  1. BriaMarie is dropping a new single called "Tell The DJ." I'm not sure what the connection might be to Jeff, but the single's image has his face on it (in A Tribe Called Quest 'Midnight Marauder" way). BriaMarie works closely with Carvin Haggins, formally of A Touch of Jazz. In this short video, you get a taste of the music, which sounds great, but it doesn't exactly call for a DJ to be featured on it. Hopefully I'm wrong. She writes this about the song... Good Morning Beam Team! I pray that you're great this morning and your day is even better! You may or may not know that I LOVE good surprises, so today's surprise is...NEW MUSIC! :) After a little over a year, I am releasing a new single. "Tell The DJ" is the first single from my upcoming debut album entitled, Freshman. "Tell The DJ" will be available on iTunes, Amazon and more, next Tuesday, February 3rd. I'm very excited about this one. Think 90's Bad Boy with a California vibe. Eee! :D Click this link or the picture below for a short video of my music producer, Carvin Haggins talking a little about the project. ("Tell The DJ" also happens to be playing in the background :D) Have a great day! Love, BriaMarie
  2. Merna (formally knows as Ayah from her work with DJ Jazzy Jeff) has a new album coming out in about a month. She should have somewhat of a following on his forum, so here are a few videos she put together to set the vibe for her upcoming album. You'll see a nod to Jeff in the third video. This is wear poetry meets life, meets soul. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ca_DtYPv-co http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYTzKVtV8jU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_vLJYfyFyQ
  3. Check out this video with Snoop Dogg and Shawn Stockman (of Boyz II Men) giving JJ+FP crazy props and talking about their impact during the 80's. They talk about them early in the video, but the whole thing is actually very interesting and funny.
  4. Here's the first collabo Jazzy has released with Dayne Jordan. I know I've peeped this song somewhere before (he probably put it on Facebook or something). Not exactly what I'd expect from Jeff, but I like it. Something fresh, dope scratches, a refreshing beat, and a new school emcee who isn't relying on cussing/ho's/money/sex/self-centeredness.
  5. If this has been posted before, just delete it. I've seen the other part of this interview before, but not this part... I've gone ahead an clumped all of the videos from this April interview together for those have haven't seen them before.

  7. I had no idea these were coming!! Anyways, I've been on Jill Scott kick and listening to her work that I never really got deep into. I've always been revisiting the classics. As I was looking online for import singles and stuff like that, I came across a remix album that was just dropped! It's all club mixes but from the previews, it sounds relaly good for the most part. JS fans need to check this out. Volume 1 (Just released yesterday) http://www.amazon.com/Crates-Fundamentals-Feeling-digital-booklet/dp/B008AN95WI/ref=sr_1_98?ie=UTF8&qid=1340769345&sr=8-98&keywords=jill+scott Apparently Volume 2 is coming out at the end of July http://www.amazon.com/Crates-Remix-Fundamentals-Jill-Scott/dp/B008646006/ref=pd_rhf_se_p_t_3
  8. THIS SONG IS DOPE!! DJ Jazzy Jeff collaborated with BriMarie on this fun, fresh joint. I haven't heard a song like this in awhile. It's just a fun, fresh, silly, song about being a broke college song. The beat is dope and produced by former A Touch of Jazz producers Carvin + Ivan. I have nothing else 2 say...just check the song... Better yet, FREE DOWNLOAD!! http://www.mediafire.com/?clwq77dg1zz9zvx
  9. I interviewed Ayah. Read what she had to say here! http://www.jazzyjefffreshprince.com/ayah-soul-music-interview.html
