  1. I dunno man...without trying to lend credence to her (because as I've read a bit more, and saw that video Alfonso did, and then heard someone else telling me about some stuff she allegedly said on set to Tatyana I think she's crazy) I can imagine someone being angry even this long after the fact. If Will (allegedly) blackballed her and basically ruined her career chances by slandering her and whatnot, sheeeeeeeeeeeeit, I'd be pissed off too! lol I'd STILL be mad, if my career choice had been ruined because someone else was lying about me. No matter how many years have gone by. No statute of limatations on THAT. ha ha. That said, I have begun to to wonder about her. I hate to think people would lie and make stuff up like this. Perhaps there's a bit of truth in that SHE BELIEVES IT. *shrugs*
  2. I think that there may be truth to this. Now let me preface this by saying I'm a huge Will Smith fan. Always have been, always will be. I've also been a Will Smith apologist over the years, defending against those who don't care for his music. That said, we don't know that what is being said in the book ISN'T true. I mean, this also (it should be noted) is referring to the Will of back in the day. The young perhaps naive and new to all of this fame stuff Will Smith. What was he? 18? 19? I can imagine that someone like that would be hesitant to let someone upstage him thinking that all that attention he's getting at the time is going to focus on someone else. Do I think everything that is being said about him is true? I don't know. And neither does anyone in here. I think it's common sense and just natural to defend those you like. When I first read this on the AHH rumors page I said to myself "I hope this isn't true". But I could see where it might be. Not saying Will is like that NOW but as a young kid coming up, and I'm sure he had a lot of say in how things went on that show, considering his name was in the title of the show and how popular the show was. And is it really hard to imagine a young cocky kid with a lot of power perhaps abusing some of that power? Lastly, I remember working at a record store and the boss mentioned that there were many people who noticed that they replaced the first Aunt Viv with a lighter skinned black lady. That there were those who were critical of that move. Whether it was done for that reason, or another, I dunno. But to just discount her as a jealous person or saying what she has to say has no merit I think it is a bit much. You can still like Will Smith, without taking apart anyone that stands against him. Just my thoughts.
  3. I been listening to a few different albums. Dave Matthews Band's new one "Big Whiskey & The GrooGrux King" which is FANTASTIC! Their best album since "Crash". DJ Clue's The Professional Part 1. That Ruff Ryders Anthem Remix is TOUGH! D'Angelo's "Brown Sugar" Remy Shand's "The Way I Feel" Enigma's "MCMXC a.d." And a classical compilation called "99 Essential Classical Pieces"
  4. That last post was mine. lol. My dumb butt forgot to log in and entered the wrong username. lol
  5. lol. Apparantly they've had problems in the past with people discussing religion/politics and things get crazy so they just put the kibosh on discussion of it or even posting your blog/site link if it has to do with religion/politics or whatever. *shrugs* their site, their rules.
  6. funny sidenote: On another forum I'm on *cough* bluray.com *cough* I had my link in my signature, and the Mods went in and edited the link out and left a message about how the link was "political and not safe for work". Didn't bother to let me KNOW about it, I just happened to see it and noticed the message. How dickish is that? *shrugs*
  7. Okay so on my blog/site that I have (link in my sig...shameless, I know) I need to get the full sized banner of the picture in my sig, as the banner at the top of the site. Now, I'm friends with the guy who did the artwork and his stuff is not cheap. I was fortunate that I got this as a favor, but now I need to figure out how to get it into the code. Most blogspot layouts has a header image that you can just insert the image. This layout I have, is a custom template called "Aspire". If ya google Aspire Blogspot you'll no doubt find it on a site called eblog or something. And this layout does not use that header image space. So even if I go into the settings and change the header image and put that picture in, it doesn't show up. Even if I select "shrink to fit". It'll accept it, and say "changes saved" but it doesn't show up. I need to figure out how to insert that banner into that code somehow that allows it to be posted at the top of the blog over everything else. Is there anyone on this site that is able to do something like that? Much appreciation if ya can.
  8. www.searchingforchetbaker.com It's in the sig as well. I mainly just post up stuff that interests me. Music, Politics, Movies, Sports, Etc. The politics tends to lean left, so if you're a die hard far right person, you may not like some of what you see. lol Just be respectful on the comments is all I ask. Unfortunately there are some on another site that are unable to be polite and so I had to set up comment moderation to keep out the "F*** YOU" comments. I know that brings SO much to the conversation, but still...lol Anyway, I just updated it today, and will probably update it a few more times tonight. Check it out and let me know what you think. Much thanks!
  9. yeah it kept giving me that "server not found" screen. IE opened it up. Then yesterday I tried again with FF and boom! it worked. *shrugs*
  10. here's my thoughts on it. *edited and cut/paste from another board I'm on.* ============== Eminem's a fairly frustrating person to follow. He has talent and skills on the mic but he wastes it so much. When I first started listening to Eminem he was pretty cool. I liked most of the material on his first two albums, and then after that the ratio of like to dislike became more disproportionate. It went from liking 60-70% on Slim Shady LP and Marshall Mathers LP to 50% and 40% and on downward on his more recent attempts. I've always liked his more serious work. The tracks like "The Way I Am" and "Mockingbird" and "When I'm Gone" and "Stan". Things like that that are intelligent excursions into his demons that he fights on a daily basis. Those are real songs that deal with REAL ****. And then there's the rest of it. Back in the day he could entertain by saying the most off the wall batsh*t crazy stuff. And it was shocking and we would laugh at it and be like "that dude's crazy for that sh*t". Even when he would go off the deep end of what is acceptable in human society, such as "Kim" we'd just shrug it off as "Marshall being Marshall". Now thought it just doesn't work like that anymore. I think we've come to know him too well, and the luster has worn off. He can't just shock us anymore because let's be honest...what have we NOT heard from Eminem at this point? And listening to Relapse just hammers home why I can't stand Eminem anymore. While there's a couple tracks that stand out (more from production than anything else) the vast majority of Relapse is just bull****. If it's not the fact that he's rehashing the same bull**** that he's done in the past on his other albums (much better on his previous albums actually) he's doing them in this obnoxious voice/accent that just kills any momentum that he could have. Raise your hand if you were looking forward to listening to this based on hearing him talk about his mother again. Being raped by a stepfather? How about talking sh*t about Mariah Carey (STILL?!?!?!)? Yeah, me neither. In fact, the best part of this album for me, which lately has been the only aspect of his releases I've liked, is the skit "Paul" where his manager is freaking out on a voice mail over how f***ed up his album is. I admit I laughed when Paul was like "Christopher Reeve? Are you kidding me? You know he's dead right?". I just can't stand to listen to the same bullsh*t about drugs and his drugged up mother and being raped over and over again. There were a few tracks that I dug though. 3A.M. was alright. The intro "Dr. West" was interesting and had my anticipation of a good album up, but was let down fairly quickly once 3A.M. ended. It appears that Eminem has lost the ability to shock anyone anymore. You can only do that for so long before you just run out of shocking things to say. I've read rumors that there's a Relapse 2 coming out in the fourth quarter of '09, and that one is miles better than Relapse. I can only hope that's true, because this one is just not even worth getting into. FOLLOW UP: Let me also be clear. I'm not an Eminem Hater and I'm not an Eminem "Stan". As I said in the beginning I liked more of his stuff than I didn't like. Some of his older tracks I STILL love. Turn me Loose with Limp Bizkit is a track I really like. The majority of the stuff I liked was the more serious aspect of songs dealing with his struggles with his addictions and trying to cope with suddenly having fans, and his problems with his daughter/wife. But not when it goes overboard into this "I'll cut your f***ing throat, b*tch" type of music. I've never been attracted to the more outrageous stuff he does just for attention, like this ridiculous song on the Relapse about him talking about his stepfather raping him. If this was based on reality, that'd be a different thing, but it's probably not seeing as how we've never heard that before. And the way he does it is just totally played for a "oh sh*t did he just say that" type of reaction. I wanted to like this, especially after the intro which I thought was brilliant. But unfortunately aside from that, the highlight was the Paul skit which always has me laughing when I hear it on his albums. some of the production was nice, and he was fairly good on several tracks. Unfortunately in 2009 with him being five albums deep (counting a greatest hits package), you have to expect more than fairly good. And I'm not going to just give him a pass and say "oh this sh*t is still alright" because after five albums there has to be some growth there. And there's very LITTLE growth on here. I knew there'd be a song about him ****ting on his mom, and sure enough, there was. Surprised there wasn't a track called "That B*tch, Kim!" on it.
  11. Okay....here's the situation.....*pauses while everyone's head starts nodding and the words to the song echo through your mind* I was signed up here a loooooooooong time ago and posted often, including stuff for downloads. The username: Conscious Thug Well I've been gone for awhile and just tried to sign in the other day and for whatever reason the page wouldn't load. It would in Internet Explorer, but not Firefox. So I remembered a few members had youtube pages, and so I contacted freshfromsofia but I think he thought I was a lunatic because he wasn't having any problems logging in. lol So I tried again today and how about that? I'm in like Flynn. And then I decided to just create a new account and start over. Didn't care for the other name anymore, so I went with this one. So....I look forward to being a part of the site again!
