As much as I like Will, it is too hard for me to call him the best storyteller in rap. Without a doubt in my mind, that title goes to the infamous MC Ricky D. aka Slick Rick. That man perfected "The Art of Storytelling." I beg you to just sit and listen to the singles "La Di Da Di" and "The Show." Then take a listen to the classic "The Great Adventures of Slick Rick." Storytelling in its finest form. :werd:

Thanks for this hero. I like Jeff's sampling on Summertime with 50's beat.

Yo. I'm looking to make a mixtape of all the songs used in the show. These are the songs I already know were used: Theme Song, Apache, It's Not Usual, Silent Night (BIIM), What's New Pussycat. Can you guys help me out with more.

It is 'E' guys. I'm sure of it.
And on 'Lost + Found'
Does Will include Em in the found part?
"FOund is Nas Escobar, Dead Prez, and Em..."
I believe he says "them." Later in the verse he says "Rakim."

Without a doubt, my favorite is "Just The Two Of Us." This song makes me break down, and just simply cry. I absolutely love it.

He's also part of the team behind "Pump Ya Brakes." He's responisble for the scratches.
He also does the scratches on "If U Can't Dance (Slide)"

I've been listenin to Party Starter for awhile now. You can definately tell that this is a song written with Ludacris. The whole time, a thought kept coming to mind. Is there going to be a remix or is that currently a bootleg remix available of this song? I can envision Luda have his own verses. I think it would sound awesome to have both Will and Luda rapping. Any ideas?

Yo Hero, I just have to say that I'm in awe of the site. It's good to find a place where JJFP aren't villified and hated upon. I belong to another rap site (RN.com), and the people over there are way too reluctant to give credit where credit is due. Good lookin' out homie.

Yo. How y'all doin? I'd like to take this to introduce myself. I'm known simply as EBrew. I'm an 18 year old freshman at California State University, Fresno. I'm a full time student and a part time rapper. I rap in the style of Slick Rick, with the humor of The Fresh Prince, the social principles of KRS-One, and my raps lack curse words much like Will Smith and Pastor Ma$e. My first exposure to "rap" music was Will Smith's Big Willie Style album. Since then, I have picked up too much of the earliest hip hop as I have been able to. That's about it. I'm sorry it took me so long to find the forums, and I hope I can become a respected member.
"Will Smith don't have to cuss in his raps... and neither do I
Sorry to all m'haters, I wanna say bye
I'll see you later when I hit Billboard's charts
And I push my album, like a bum does carts."

Yo. What's up y'all? I'm a rapper who has grown up listenin to Will. I tell stories like he does. I hit the humor like he does. But enough about him, it's all about me. Here's a freestyle I did for some friends the other day. We recorded it and I transcribed it. Remember, it's just a freestyle! haha Holla
Whatcha mean I can't rap? You don't like my style?
What? Were you expecting the guy from eight mile?
I call him Marshall, but you call him Slim
Well guess what yo. I just aint like him!
I aint like Aftermath or Roc-A-Fella
I do all my raps straight acapella
You hear my voice, but there aint no beat
Cuz I don't care if you wanna move your feet
That's my perogative, quote Bobby Brown
I make the rap, but I don't never get down
If that's what you do, I'm not gonna frown
I'll just go on making my real fresh sound
And making my raps and making my flows
Sound like they were made by the props
I want them to sound like all of those
Made by Snoop, Game, and all m'bros
I'm an amateur, I aint afraid to say it
But if you get my record, I know you will play it
Over and over until it's broken and cracked
Then you'll wonder why I was attacked
And called weak, soft, and all out whacked
When all along, I shoulda been backed
haha. That's it. LMK what y'all think. If you want some more stuff, I have a ton of it.
Will The Best Lyricist!
in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince

When you say Grandmaster Flash, I think you mean to say Melle Mel. Flash was the DJ and Melle Mel was the lyricist. Melle Mel was one of the top 5 best.
If you combined Melle Mel's lyrical flow, Rakim's cadence, Slick Rick's storytelling, Biz Markie's humor, and Tupac's "realness," you would have the ultimate emcee. :thumb:
(I can't think of a better word than realness)
