  1. And I think Nationalization is probably the better move than the bank rescue he planned

Nationalization is the worst thing one can do right now. It might make the numbers look better at first, but it never works out in a long term.

Really? I mean Geithner doesn't deny that the big assumption is that these assets have an actual intrinsic good value. The're toxic...which means this plan will just prop up their value...aka inflate. It's a leverage game that looks just like the type of 6 to 1, 12 to 1 leverage that got us here.

In any case, I hope the plan works, but if it doesn't it only makes it tougher to do what's necessary to fix the problem. Is that nationalization? Seems to be.

  2. The Obama deception is fear mongering. I'm actually critical of Obama for not spending enough. I'm with Krugman on this one. And I think Nationalization is probably the better move than the bank rescue he planned. I'm gonna give him time on this one.

That said, Obama could have made the stimulus (while needing to be almost double it's 800B amount) more "stimulative" by directly focusing on infrastructure. The idea that contraceptives were considered stimulus by Pelosi just shows that neither party is the rational party.

  3. IT'S SOMETHING and it shows he has SOME kind of love for the game still.....

Doesnt recording in the studio with no real intent to release/make profit show TRUE love for the game?

you can't deny that this own words these last 6 months showed an apathy to the game.

  4. SLKFDLSKJFLSDJFLDSKJFLSDJF

I'm actually realizing that he was IN THE STUDIO...and not just walking around, but RHYMING TO SOMETHING.

I have a worry it will be like 2 min on K. Smiths album BUT WHO CARES...

IT'S SOMETHING and it shows he has SOME kind of love for the game still.....

  5. Well the World Classic is almost here, and we Dominicans are ready to kick some serious behinds there along with Cuba who have the greatest team ive ever seen in my life. The USA and the others better be careful because this will get pretty interesting.. Oh u people that dont know about baseball should take this oportunity to see you country playing if they are going to..

Um, I'd just like to say, the MLB USA'ers seem focused on either playing light during the classic, as to not get hurt, or just abstaining from going to the tournament. That factors in bigtime.

  6. Ok, look, for me this is the greatest sport there is, my dad argues it is Soccer, but anyways, the game is exciting, requires some abilities and is highly unpredictable, once u get the love for this game it will follow u for the rest of ur life..

Your dads a very smart man!

    Now that's just dilusional

  7. Aint there a way to change that picture Bob has in his signature, it annoys me a lot, lol. Anyway, Phillies aint going nowhere this year, they got lucky the Mets just havent stand in their way for the last two years...I have a feeling this one Will be different in the National League East..

    HAHAHAHHAHA.

    MUWHAhAHAHHhaAHAHAHAHHAHAHA.

  8. yeah, which ssomehow make's me doubt that its true that its is from detox. but 2001 also had a track without dre, so who knows.

After listening to 5 seconds of TI, and knowing Dre's history of ghostwriters, I think this could very well be the cover vocals for him to eventually rap. At least TI's part, as it is very methodically different from TI's usual work. It's hard though to say Nas' lyrics are tuned for Dre in the same way.

  9. Can I just point out what a ridiculous suggestion by bob and maxfly to invest in the market a few months ago.. The Dow is down to 7,500 I wouldn't start buying tip it hits 6000. The recession still hasn't fully hit and the stockmarket isn't gonna go up until there are signs things are improving

Uh, I'd just like clarify, I made gains.

  10. I'm pretty choked up. It's funny, here in a little French town in Normandy (right where Obama referenced the Allied Invasion in World War Two), I see so much hope (along with so many posters of Obama) by people so far removed by distance, but not by fraternity, from the United States. It makes me pretty proud to see the whole process, especially from abroad. I watched ABC, CNN, and CBS simultaneously on my computer here. I loved to see such a peaceful, exciting event. It's even more amazing, and humbling to see the influence my country's political/economic process has upon other, even older countries here in Europe.

My president has my goodwill. God Bless, and let's get started.

  11. I'm weighing in on this a little late , but I gotta say... I like this album a lot. "Amazing" is great with the exception of Yound Jeezy, "Welcome to Heartbreak," "Say You Will," "Bad News" "Street Lights" "Coldest Winter." Shoot, I even like "Paranoid" and "Robocop." Incidentally, if you want a good laugh, listen to the end of "Robocop."

I have to admit, at first, I didn't care much for the album, but it's grown on me tremendously. Perhaps the style takes a little getting used to, but after a few listens, if just flows very well. There are intricate things he does that makes this album work. The beats are somewhat unconventional, but they're extremely catchy. The biggest draw back I would say are the lyrics, and that's largely because he's singing for much of the album and the lyrics aren't as intricate, funny, or ironic as we're used to. Even then, the lyrics are better than 95% of the stuff that's out there. This isn't contentional hip hop.

Just so I'm not a hater, I gave the album another shot. I still have the toughest time listening to the album. It just doesn't work for me.

  12. Thanks guys!

1.) I am in Rouen and yes, I do want to visit Caen. I didn't know anything about any football (I'm forcing myself to say it in opposed to soccer) around Rouen, so I may in fact make it there one weekend.

2.) Julie--I will visit Kent Uni most likely first, but London and wherever my friend suggests, so I am all ears for advice. Oh, by the way, I know that personal gun use is nonexistent in the UK...SO why do the police have AK47s at Heathrow???? Couldn't a pistol do? I would think the US policemen would have the AK47's before London with the personal gun laws much less strict. That really scared me to no end!

3.) Visqo, man I got philly sports radio on when I'm in my room and I have some friends who will be watching with me 7pm (1pm NY time) Sunday as the Eagles beat the Giants. I got my 'serving' of philly intermittently throughout the day to get me by.

  13. Hey all...So I'm going to try and stay up on the boards, but I may be slacking for oh, say...the next 5 months!

That is because as of last night, I am now a student in Normandy until June. It's really exciting and I am happy to realize my french is pretty good in conversation.

Anyway, the reason I posted this topic, is I know some of you are from Western Europe. So any suggestions, places to visit, advice for a foreigner (wow, it's weird to describe myself that way) are welcome! UK (my buddy did an exchange program last year to my school, he attends Kent University), France, Spain, Germany, Italy...(anywhere in the Western European limits) any suggestions are welcome.

    Thank you!
