1. U have 2 remember that during the 80's and early 90's...Music waz his main area of concentration so while touring, doing award shows, and so on, he met alot of people. Will's got this special tie with the old skool while remaining new skool (how do u think he pulled off all those cameos in the "So Fresh" video). He seems 2 keep his ties strong and giving people who havn't had much attention or fame recently an outlet by working with them.

It looks like Will just keeps pushing on, trying new things and testing what other producers can bring out of him.
2. I just recieved this rare vinyl 1999 release by Come Correct Entertainment. This 'single' is dedictated to "Bobbito's Footwork Illadelph." I guess he's a breaker or something.

ANYWAYS, this 'single' contains a track called "Hold It Down" by emcee Krush B (who is your average underground emcee...yet light years ahead of the crappy mainstream artists out now) and it's produced by Limitless and Orthodox for A Touch of Jazz. DJ Jazzy Jeff scratchs during every chorus (which is Jeff solo) and at the end. His scratches are kinda like what u hear on Gang Starr trax where it's alot of phrases rather than showing off on the turntable (tho' there's some of that 2). The production on this track is flawless. It's thick and it has this dark vibe 2 it. It reminds u how pathetic most mainstream artists have it when it comes 2 production. The music waz written by Darren "Limitless" Henson. The main version, clean version, and the instrumental w/ just Jeff's scratches are on this single.

The flip side has nothing 2 do with Jazzy Jeff or A Touch of Jazz but it dose have a song by Baby Blak on it. His flow is different from his current stuff...he's newer flow is much better. The song is good 2 but he sounds best when he's working with A Touch of Jazz.
3. On August 5th, i'm gonna go down 2 B-more and see Musiq live. :bounce: I'm totally hyped. The prices 4 the tickets were rediculously cheap (no thanx 2 Ticketmaster for their "convenience charge" which costed almost as much as the tickets themselves). I just wanted 2 share. However, it's actually kinda sad cuz i planned on getting tickets 2 see Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick, and Biz Markie...however they were sold out...i shouldn't have waited. :tear:
4. I'm not the only one who is discusted with the current state of Hip-Hop. U obviously are pretty young. U seem 2 have no knowledge of old skool Hip-Hop and the roots of the music. If u did, u would have higher standards 4 what u think is good. These new guys suck...period. New fans don't know what they are missin'...u need 2 check the underground and what's NOT on the charts 2 find good music. I am angry cuz Hip-Hop is my first love...but it's got me checkin' in 2 chicks on the side when it comes 2 music. Current rap dosen't do anything 4 me. I only get a Hip-Hop every few months cuz nothing good is coming out.

There's nothing 2 be scared about in music...what are u talking. I'm just saying that there isn't anything good coming out (on a mainstream level). Don't twist it and make it sound like i'm scared of Hip-Hop that's based off gritty reality....cuz i'm not and i've gone thru' things myself. But when 50 Cent and Jay-Z try 2 say what's real...it's just not. They ain't Hip-Hop...they're Rap. Bottom line, u can't fight me on that one...they are RAP. I do go 2 church...but that has nothing 2 do with my taste in music...what in the world are u talking about with that comment?!?
5. I love Kid 'N Play...definitly one of my fav groups. Didn't someone post a month or so ago saying that Kid has given up on music? In an XXL magazine from like 2000ish, they had an article on Kid 'N Play. Kid talked about his car accident and how he waz working on new music with Def Jef but had no real plans 2 release it at that point. Play waz overlooking some gospel Hip-Hop (infact he executively produced a Grapetree complilation album in like 1999). I also heard that newz that him and Salt were writing a play 2gether.

While Kid 'N Play are still cool, they almost never talk, the XXL article talked about the last time they were 2gether, one of their mutual friends invited them both over 4 dinner one night without letting the other know the other was gonna be there. They had a good time and reminsced but it didn't sound like anything came from it. The end of the article said something like they had no plans 4 a reunion but that nobody should count it out.

I think that they are so different now that a reunion is pretty unrealistic...but i'd love 4 them 2 prove me wrong.
6. It seems like alot of things are comin' in2 place and that we are just waiting 4 a confirmation. FP has always held a special love 4 his music...deeper than the whole movie thing. He can only hold back 4 so long. I have a feeling Will knows that it's make or break when it comes 2 his music career. Columbia did alot of damage...now he's free and the planets have aligned. Fresh Prince is on his way back 2 mainstream royalty.
7. AJ's PET PEEVES IN RAP/HIP-HOP

When rappers talk about lifestyles they don't live (example, drugs, money, guns, girls, etc). If a rapper comes out on their 1st album saying they have all kinds of money, girls, and jewerly...they are lying, unless they won the lottery.

When rappers/emcees over use the n-word or cussing. Show me that u have respectable manners and can hold an intellegent conversation.

When rappers preach poison and make guns, violence, and drugs sound really cool. Also when the boast about lots of sex. Get some self-respect and learn how 2 live life. Lil' kids don't need 2 hear trash about that stuff unless the rapper is offering a positive solution 2 the situation.

When rappers exploit women in their videos and have low standards 4 the ho's they put their videos. Something like Wreckx-N-Effect's "Rump Shakers" features beatiful ladies in bathing suits dancing. Considering the song's subject matter and the fact that they are on the beach and on boats, it makes sense (whether u like it or not). The video also features girls who take care of themselves...sexy as they wanna be. What i don't like is when they have girls nearly naked 4 no reason in a video just sluttin' it up 4 the camera. Also, if u check some Nelly and Ludacris videos, they got some nasty ho's with cellulite and stuff...i dont' go 4 that. If u are gonna put girls in your video, it only works if their is a reason 4 it and if they are pretty girls. The same rules go 4 guys but female rappers aren't stupid like 2days new skool rappers. No ladies wanna see some huge, over-weight, harry guy shakin' it buttnaked in a video.

When rappers wear 2 much jewelry. It's just phoney after your 3rd peice of bling bling. A necklace, a ring, maybe a watch...after that, just stop. They just look stupid when they over do it.

When rappers put out albums that are just a bunch of songs put 2gether. The beauty of an album should offer different subject matter, different sounds, and a vibe that is complete when u listen 2 it the whole way thru.' Most of these mainstream commerial guys just record a bunch of songs and put them on a CD...there's no continuity.

When rappers do 2 many interludes on their album. They are interesting the 1st few times, then they just interupt the flow and get annyoing. On top of that, if the interlude is just stupid, then it's really bad. The worse kind is where somebody's getting some on those interludes....just picuturing them standing in front of a microphone in a studio recording it is just stupid 2 me.
8. I havn't seen any of the episodes since the 1st. Have they been any better?!? I'd like it 2 get better cuz i really didn't like the 1st episode. Most of the humor waz like 10 years old and the story waz so weak. Let me know what's gone on in the other episodes!!
9.
how can ppl just read and not post anythin, i couldnt do that
I'm a real busy person (tho' i'm getting a slight break this summer) and it usually keeps me from posting as much as i wanna. I check the board everyday but there are times when i can't post 2 often. During those times i'm always thinking "ohhh...i have something 2 say about that" or "i can answer that ?uestion" but i'm so busy that i don't always get 2 reply 2 those posts.
10. Maybe FP wanted 2 re-work the whole album. Maybe something about the retro-Hip-Hop thing wazn't working out. Pink started working on her last album as a death-metal type vibe and realized that it wazn't working....so she took it back 2 square one.

However, maybe retro-Hip-Hop is still the vibe. Just cuz he's got a reggae artist on the album or a Korean producer dosen't mean it can't still be retro-Hip-Hop. It would also be silly 2 have every song sound really similar so i think experimenting is important. He dosen't wanna do the same thing over and over again. The only newz that i havn't liked about this new album is the 4 trax he did with Petey Pablo. Petey is trash and i can't imagin him not ruining whatever song he's on.

Keep in mind that the source up there said May of next year may be the release date. That's plenty of time 2 work on new music and plenty of time 2 deside what he wants 2 do.
