  1. Disney gets 'Monster' script Studio aquires work from scribes Wilson and Zappa By DAVE MCNARY Disney has acquired the script "Monster Witness Relocation Program" from Michael Wilson and Ahmet Zappa. Project's been set up at Will Smith's Overbrook Entertainment and Zappa's Monsterfoot Productions. Logline's being kept under wraps. Project's being developed as a possible vehicle for "The Karate Kid" star Jaden Smith, though the thesp isn't attached at this point. In 2005, Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer Films paid $1.5 million for film rights to Zappa's then-unpublished novel "Monstrous Memoirs of a Mighty McFearless." That story concerns a young brother and sister who learn their family is part of a long line of monster hunters. http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118023195.html?categoryId=13&cs=1

  6. 'Hurt Locker' was a good movie but very overrated IMO. I don't think it deserved those 6 Oscars, including Best Picture. There were other movies that deserved it more, like 'UP', for example. But it seems the Academy isn't ready to give that award to an animated film yet. Shame. Hope things change next year with the wonderful 'Toy Story 3'. For me, it's the best movie of the year (so far). Much better than 'Inception' or 'Shutter Island'. But back on topic, I'd like to see Will working with Bigelow. Since she won the Best Director Oscar (making History as first female winning that award), her upcoming projects will become more interesting.

  20. LOS ANGELES, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, stars of "Bad Boys," would make the best real police out of all Hollywood police duos, an online poll said. MovieTickets.com said it conducted the survey to coincide with Friday's theatrical release of "The Other Guys," an action-comedy that casts Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg as a mismatched pair of detectives. Forty-one percent of the 15,366 votes cast in the online poll said Smith and Lawrence would make the best police in real life. Mel Gibson and Danny Glover from "Lethal Weapon" earned 36 percent of the vote, while Bill Hader and Seth Rogen from "Superbad" garnered 14 percent and Eddie Murphy and Judge Reinhold from "Beverly Hills Cop" got 9 percent, MovieTickets.com said. http://www.upi.com/Entertainment_News/Movies/2010/08/05/Smith-Lawrence-voted-top-movie-police-duo/UPI-50241280981667/
