CAA alum to serve on management committee, rep film and TV clients Paradigm has bolstered its management ranks with the appointment of Overbrook Entertainment partner Ken Stovitz as a senior agent. Stovitz, who is also a CAA alum, will join Paradigm's management committee, which oversees the agency's day-to-day operations. Overbrook partner Jada Pinkett Smith and her son, thesp Jaden Smith, are among the first clients Stovitz is bringing into the fold. Stovitz's move to Paradigm comes amid rumblings that Paradigm chairman-CEO Sam Gores is looking at growth opportunities and possible acquisitions. In January, the percentery bulked up its already significant music and touring biz through a partnership with Electronic Dance Music touring agency AM Only. Stovitz is "a savvy executive, has incredible taste, an excellent reputation and we share a vision for the agency's future, which he will be a key architect in building," Gores said. Stovitz ended an 18-year run at CAA in 2007 to join his longtime client Will Smith at Overbrook, serving as a partner with Smith, Pinkett Smith and James Lassiter in the production company behind such features as "The Karate Kid," "Seven Pounds," "Hancock" and TV skeins including Pinkett Smith starrer "Hawthorne" for TNT and Queen Latifah's upcoming syndie yakker. "Sam is giving me the opportunity to work side by side with him and the management committee to grow the agency at a time when the cycle is shifting in favor of the artist," said Stovitz. "The creators of entertainment art will have a much stronger say in their destiny and I am very excited to get started." Stovitz will work with a range of clients spanning Paradigm's film and TV, lit and talent departments.
