After 40 years together Will Smith & Jazzy Jeff performed for the first time in Wembley Stadium for 80,000 screaming fans today. They were one of the headliners for Capital FM’s Summertime Ball concert and Will and Jeff had an absolute blast performing for the huge crowd.
Will started off the performance with his version of Will remix with Joyner Lucas. He then went into his biggest hit of all time, Getting Jiggy Wit It which the crowd loved.
One of the biggest highlights was when Will and Jeff took everyone back to 1993 with the worldwide #1 “Boom! Shake the Room!”
Will Smith reminded the crowd that Will and Jeff recorded the first Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince album “Rock the House” in London.
Boom! Shake the Room still sounds great and is an awesome party track for a live crowd.
The crowd also really got into “Men In Black,” taking everyone back to 1997.
Will also performed his brand new single, “Pretty Girls”. This is the first single off Will’s second “Based on a True Story” album series which is being released in a few weeks.
Jazzy Jeff scratching on the tracks elevated the live performance. At one point DJ Jazzy Jeff did his legendary Run DMC “Peter Piper” routine. Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince took everyone back to how they used to perform at block parties in the 1980s.
The best moment was just seeing Will and Jeff talk to each other on stage about how they have been friends for over 40 years. It is amazing to still see them together. Jeff is now 60 and Will is in his 50s and you could see them taking it in performing for the massive crowd on a beautiful sunny day in London. The crowd was a mix of young and old and Will and Jeff were able to win over all the fans as they performed their hits from the 90s.
The crowd loved when Will did Miami from “Big Willie Style” he broke the track down with the remix and had the crowd singing along.
The biggest crowd response though was when they performed the “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” theme. The entire crowd rapped alonmg to the lyrics. You can hear it all below.
