Actor Will Smith says India so rich with stories he felt at home during visit

NEW DELHI (AP) - Hollywood actor Will Smith says India is so rich with stories that he felt at home during his visit to the South Asian country.

Smith, a best-actor Oscar nominee for 2001's Ali, last week launched Sony Entertainment's English-language movie channel, Pix, and was a guest on Indian Idol, the country's version of American Idol.

"The walls and streets here are alive with history. And I am a storyteller ... and story lover," he told The Times of India newspaper in an interview that appeared in Monday's editions.

"India is so rich with stories that I feel at home," he said. It was the 37-year-old actor's first trip to India.

Smith also attended a party at the home of a top Indian film actor, Shah Rukh Khan, where the two discussed the Indian cinema and the star system.

Smith said he'd like to explore a possible collaboration between Hollywood and Bollywood, as India's film industry is known.

Sounds like Will's pretty high on India and is eager to work with some of the Bollywood actors. Should be interesting to see what is done.
