Will Smith gives ‘Jadu ki Jhappi’ to all

Will Smith, the star of hit movies like ‘Enemy of the State’, ‘Wild Wild West’, ‘Ali’, ‘Men in Black’ , ‘Bad Boys II’ and ‘I’, ‘Robot’ and recently ‘Hitch’ , is in India to inaugurate a Sony movie channel and he enthralls the whole gathering with the warmth of his personality.

The media reported that all the reporters who assembled at the conference in Mumbai’s Taj Ballroom Thursday afternoon in the inauguration of Pix - Sony’s new Hollywood entertainment channel in India - got a warm hug from Will Smith. It reportedly started with a lady from DD channel asking a question to Smith ,who came down from the dais then to hug the lady. All present there then ended up getting a hug.

Will Smith paid a visit to Agra on Tuesday with his son to see the Taj Mahal, which was in his must see list and he spent the next day socialising with top Bollywood filmmakers.

“Not with any other purpose but to acquaint himself with the biggest movie industry in the world,” said a Sony spokesperson about Smith’s Wednesday schedule. Directors like Karan Johar, Ashutosh Gowariker, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Subhash Ghai, Manmohan Shetty of Adlabs and UTV’s Ronnie Screwvala featured in Smith’s list.

But the media reported that Gowariker missed his meeting with the Hollywood actor because of his prior commitment. He expressed his regrets and reportedly stated, “ I’d have loved to meet him. I believe he was keen to know about our film industry.”

But filmmaker Karan Johar had the privilege of spending some time with Smith. He is reported to have said, “It was a good, productive meeting. He is entertaining and well informed. I was quite happy to see he was genuinely interested in our industry and in a give-and-take of ideas on cinema.”

The next episode of ‘ Indian Idol’ will feature Karan Johar and Will Smith together.
