The Lakers have absolutely no one that would be a "problem player". If Phil Jackson wants Spreewell, then hopefully he can take care of him. The Lakers are a 8/9 seed right now, the bench is weak with Jumaine Jones as our most valuable player. K. Brown is a huge question mark, Slava M. and Brian Cook are one dimensional outside shooters, and Bynum is a couple years away from contributing anything big, so the frontcourt needs help. What we need is a big man and a pg. Right now it's McKie/ Smush Parker at the point, which is better than last year's lineup of Chucky Atkins/ Tierre Brown, but still pathetic.

The problem with adding Sprewell is... where do you play him? That was the problem with the Fakers last year. They had too many perimeter players and not enough low post help. You already have ball hogs like Odom and Kobe and now you're adding Spree? I don't care if Phil is there or not, the Fakers will suck again!

Before Kobe, Odom, Mihm and Divac went down (again), the Lakers were the 6th seed in the West. And that was after the All Star break too. You know how the Lakers will fare without Kobe. All of a sudden the rookie Sasha Vujacic got some starts, players were playing out of position (which Odom was doing the whole year last year anyway) and to top it off, Rudy T resigned. Spreewell can add some offense if Kobe, Odom or Brown go down.

The LAKERS had to learn the triangle again halfway through the year, and no one had triangle experience except Kobe, Walton, Cook, George (who was on the IR most of the season) and Divac. Kobe was the only one who played more than one quarter of the game of that group. And damn straight we need to add a big man. Divac's probably going to retire, and Jumaine Jones or Brian Cook as the backup PF would not be good enough especially in the West.

Oh and what I'm saying is the Lakers have a better roster than last years. McKie >> Atkins, Brown > Odom at the PF postition, Odom > Butler. If we get Spreewell, the guy will probably be at PG or SF, and we could move Odom to PG. No idea what Phil's going to do, but he's been known for putting weird lineups out there.

We'll see how this goes. It does give the Lakers a little more fire power and another scoring threat this year, but it really doesn't matter at this point. They are looking at 2 to 3 years from now when a great number of quality players become free agents. They have a good shot at making the playoffs with the team they have now barring widespeard injuries like they had last year; Kobe, Odom and others. Their goal should be to make the playoffs, keep their fans somewhat happy, maintain short term contracts, and nothing more for the time being.

At the end of the day, barring serious injuries it looks to be all San Antonio anyway. Their team is ridiculous. Nick the Quick coming off the bench. Michael Finley possibly starting at the 3 spot, along with Tony Parker, Manu Ginobli, Tim, and Nazr Mohammed... It's unfair... lol.
