The GTA series has always had an (18) logo on it over here in the UK anyway, and therefore the shops shudnt be selling it to children in the same way a DVD or VHS movie has the same logo and shudnt be sold to a minor. So this is either a rubbish sotry or its different in the states,

It's not fake. It's true. Rockstar is probably pushing hard to get the newer version out that has the "Hot Coffee" sex game completely removed. If a game wants to sell, an AO rating is suicide. Many retailers refuse to carry any games with an AO rating as they're all pretty much pornographic (just like this minigame in GTA).

God Blessa!

GTA SA, is a great game. But i see where your coming from. It is crude.

But the playability and freedom of play puts it above anything else on the market even if you dont agree with its attitude and story

Yea for real. It isn't marketed at kids in the first place. I'm tired of parent groups and the such flipping out about "their Kids Playing games like this!"....THINK PEOPLE, THEY ARE YOUR KIDS. You should be monitoring everything they're doing, adn if you don't like the game they're playing, Take it away, especially if it's a game like GTA...

Well, how ironic is this? I went "huntin" for this game about a few days ago. I went to Target, and the ban happened early that morning. I went to Wal-Mart, and it was already off the shelf. Then I went to FYE, I almost didn't see it, but there it was right in my face just as I was about to give up and leave. I took it home. Readily played it and spent nearly 6 1/2 hrs the 1st time around. I ain't know where the time went. I love ever bit of this game. Just cuz it's 'hood', now all of sudden they want it off da shelves. Dat aint right. just playin. But I've been playin' it everyday.

Anyway, my neice(who is 9) has GTA 3 and Vice(I do also), but only becuz one of her other uncle's left it for my bro to play. He fooled wit it a lil bit, but then my niece played it. She barely plays it now I guess (cuz she either just can't do accomplish the missions or will full around much like I do cuz I beat 'em already). Every once in a while, I'd hear a cuss word slip. 1st couple times I ignored it, but I just told her not to say 'em. Hopefully, there won't be any loop holes within some contacts for her to even get to play it. That game is a regular 'Boyz In Da Hood' movie (which is one of the movies they took from I might add).

Ok, I want to weigh in on this. This is just stupid, for several reasons:

In the game you steal cars and muder people to succeed. But now, oh dear lord, there's concentual sex involved, please won't someone thing of the children! This just show's how off society is when it's better to reward murder then it is to reward sex.

It has an M rating here in the US, which means that it's for 17 and older. Now, oh boy, it can only be bought if you're 18 or older. Yep, we're saving the world now. Give me a break, it's foolishness to think that if you're 17 you can't see sex in a game, but if you're 18 you can.

Another issue is that this game is obviously not for children. My god, the title of the game is Grand Theft Auto! If you buy that for your 12 year old you should know full well that he/she is getting their hands on something designed for adults. If the title isn't obvious enough for the parents to make the decision, there's a nifty M there to make it even more obvious. No parent who has half a brain and is paying at least a minimal amount of attention could have reasonably bought this thinking it was an innocent childrens game.

Continuing on, the game didn't even ship with the sex scene available! You had to manually edit the game. This isn't a cheat code, the game was hacked. Let me point out that you can also modify The Sims to include nudity and sex. Shall we change that to an adult rating as well?

Now, if your child is smart enough to go to the internet, find the fix for the game, then apply it. Then your child is smart enough to go to the internet and find much more realistic porn.

I'm a game developer, and I have a theory as to how this scene got put in there. Keep in mind that I don't know with certainty if this is how it happened, and even if it isn't, this entire situation is dumb anyway. However, I would bet good money that when they designed the game they decided to put a sex scene in. They probably created it and then decided (or where informed) that it would probably put the game over the top to the adult rating. Faced with that, they would have then decided to remove it. Now, if they did all of this at the end of the development process, then the easiest and safest way of removing it is to not actually remove it, but change a small amount of code to skip over the scene. Any changes at the end of development are very dangerous, even it it's just to remove content. The good decision is to not actually remove the content, just put in a very minor change to ignore the content. The reason why I don't think this is some rogue developer making this change is easy. If it was, then you wouldn't have to hack the game, you would put in a cheat code to see it. That is, it would be available with much greater ease. Why? Cuz if you put in something like that for kicks (that is, you don't ~have~ to), you do it so people can see it. However, I would also bet money that some programmer on the team is the one who created the hack to get it back in the game.

I'm very annoyed that the Congress is throwing a fit over this.

GTA Series is the godfather of games, it's the jay-z, nas, krs-one, james brown, michael jackson, king, queen whatever of games and i worship every bit of it. My life is dedicated to it and i'm proud!

And i also think it's outrageous that a game is being banned because of a HACK. As Schnazz said this is not a scene in the game, it's a scene brought out by hackers. THE SAME thing was done when sims came out first and that was more easy and public!

I wonder if the congress isn't more worried of the game including the riots of the early 90's in US than it is because of a sex scene (HELLO, POSTAL?).

well... I don't like the idea of my sons playing this game. I went through my son's game collection when they came home from New England, and what did I find? Grand Theft Auto San Andreas! I have NO complete idea how he was able to purchase it with a 'M' rating, but he did... (mind u,..that I was in Georgia).

I told him to put it in my room,..and he BETTER not touch it. I'm either selling this game or letting him trade it in at GameStop. I don't care how much money he loses, but he won't be playing it again...

peace,
