2.22.07 - Fresh from the post-Grammy buzz, sales picked up for a number of artists including Mary J. Blige(with 2 albums in the top 25), Justin Timberlake, Corinne Bailey Rae and Gnarls Barkley. Perhaps the biggest story is the continuing success story of Robin Thicke. His sales jumped 90% from last week and now has platinum in his sight when most analysts didn't think he would go Gold. The Evolution of Robin Thicke continues to get great word of mouth and increased airplay... on urban radio stations. The late Gerald Levert debuts at #2 while Norah Jones continues her strangle hold on the #1 spot.

Carrie Underwood and Nickelback are both approaching 5 million, that is unbelievable, I had no idea anyone still sold that much nowadays.

86 Bow Wow Price Of Fame ...wasted potential

88 Snow Patrol Eyes Open ...i liked their acoustic song on the radio

95 Hellogoodbye Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! ...love their catchy dance song on the radio

99 Madonna Confessions Tour ...considering this is actually released as a concert DVD, it's good that the short CD part of it got it on the charts

Just my opinions

I was scanning these sales, and I'm wondering what are the record labels thinking? We're all complaining about what's promoted on mainstream hip hop. And it's not working?!? Where are the "Lil"s and "Yung"s. Yeah, I seen Yung Jeezy. If labels main goal are to sell records and this "gangsta, hustler, poor message, awful party music" is not working, why do they stay with it? Hmm.

The only thing I'm dissapointed is that "Eminem: Presents the re-up" is actually above Jay z and Nas's albums which are about 10 times better than that peice of garbage, on the eminem album I like two songs, "No Apologyies" and "Cry Now Remix" and on Nas and Jay z's albums I like pretty much every song on both of there albums, I cant see how that works, nobody sees the truth in the industry these days,

AJ why don't you take Jay Z serouisly? "Kingdom Come" is one of his greatest albums so far, he says so much truth on it. but we have our own opinoins and I respect yours:)

The highest ranked Rap album is #37? YES!!! That really warms my heart!

Don't worry, like I've said all along the majors will start getting out of Rap all together very soon! :wiggle:

I'd like to believe that but I think the majors still have much more blood to suck out of rap before they start getting out of the business.

Right now they are hemorrhaging more blood than they are able to suck, and the majors never stand for that for very long. :1-say-yes:
