  1. Next to that, I dont think that you can judge an Mc on how he was back in the day, not if he's still releasing records. To stay a good Mc till today you have to grow, like Will did, like LL did and so on. If Hammer would be a newcomer these days, errbody would say he is bad, because he didnt get "better" in anyway (I heard his new stuff). And thats my whole point. These days he just isnt a good Rapper anymore.

I don't disagree that Hammer isn't good these days. I don't listen to anything new by him, so I don't really know, but it wouldn't surprise me if he's not that skilled any more. But "I dont think that you can judge an Mc on how he was back in the day, not if he's still releasing records" is just silly. By that logic I shouldn't listen to The Beatles because of Wings.

But Beatles' records still hold up as melodically complex and lyrically on point... and were often greater than what the Wings made...

An old skool artist can be at par with contemporaries...Big daddy Kane and Rakim could def hold their own against Nas and Jay-Z...The Message could lyrically hold up with almost any rap song released today...but Hammer and other novelty acts were never skilled enough to be compared to anyone making records worth remembering...his dance moves might have caused a revolution in video but I could care less...

  2. I hate how the Christian right wing, hijacked positive ideals such as morality and faith and turned them into partisan bickering points to make them seem like they have some type of moral high ground over the liberal or secular way of thinking...so on occasions such as the Larry Craig and Ted Haggard scandals I just kick back and relish the display of the "evil" urges they clearly over compensated for through their political careers...

also to add to Schnazz's list Dick Cheney freakin' shot a dude...a friend of his....and had him apologize for it.

Karl Rove said John McCain had an illegimate black baby.

And George Bush doesn't care about black people...lol...kidding, let's please not get into that again.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Back to music...just because you can remember somebody's name 10 to 20 years after the peak of their careers does not mean they didn't suck...think about it ... new kids on the block, Vanilla Ice, Mambo 5 and thousands of other acts...

Not saying that I don't love me some hammer or kid n play on occasion, just wouldn't dare mention it in the same breath as BDK, Chuck D and Rakim...

  3. hmm i only had a couple to drink 2night at the pub, i didnt think i was drunk then i read this post, i just dont get it at all.

Congrats brakes anyway, all you need is for people to hear the song and they'll like it, so u just need exposure.

Yeah I can barely follow this absurd exchange..yet I somehow contributed it...

  4. A "gangster" rapper...on the view? SAY IT AIN'T SO! I am SO mad! This is outrage, I say...I spend my whole life trying to be mad at something pointless and I don't even get to start a thread about it!

Relax dude...the audience at the view is just about as fake and superficial as Snoop's fans, or maybe even more so (And I say this purely deriving from the fact that they give a standing ovation for just anybody, Jerry Seinfeld and Kathy Griffin deserve different levels of excitement shown!). And regardless of what you say, every soccer mom ever finds sensual seduction irresistibly catchy....
