1. Knowledge is the best weapon that I posess I'm typing these lyrics straight off the dome I'm blasting The ammunition in my head never lacks to hit My thoughts come quick like Carl Lewis This isn't even 100% effort I'm giving But I'm the type of lyricist that can make my worst song a hit 'Cause anything that I write is stronger than your **** Only if I'd lend you my pad, you'll get rich One day my book of rhymes are gonna be on display at a museum I'll turn on your girlfriend if you don't give her proper respect Real women like men like me who're intelligent So if you're dropping out of school you're irrelevant You don't have no sex appeal My hunger goes beyond for the next meal I bust the flow that reps the feel Of me being a conscious rapper like Chuck D Since I know "I gotta give the peeps what they need" I'll rep for my friends and public enemies Anything that gives me motivation, it's all love for me I'm gonna be a legendary master so the youngeons will look up to me 'Cause the world needs a rapper that'll lead Beyond that's gathered from wack record companies You're a selfish person if you're only rappin' for money I rap for a change, that's why I don't rap the same Like the other bull**** you hear everyday That's why even when we're battlin' I'm still gonna drop knowledge that'll clear your brain 'Cause it's clogged worse than President Clinton's heart they had to operate
2. I could tell that Nas inspired to write that one 'cause it's similiar to the way Nas did it on "Pussy Killz" on the God's Son Bonus Disc, I like it a lot, you do well with storytelling in your rhymes! Hey Joe don't take anything from the battles personal but when it's time to battle there is no time to be friends, let's keep the beef on the rhymes and that's it.
3. It was a sad day 3 years ago, it doesn't feel that long ago to me, I was starting the 1st day of 11th grade and when I went to history class the teacher put on the TV and told us what happened, it was a shock to see, it looked like something that you would only see in a movie, it didn't seem real. RIP to those victims and the heroes that tried to save them. You can't take anyday for granted because you never know what'll happen tomorrow. What happened in Russia last week at that school was terrible too, there's too much evil in the world for world peace!
4.
Man, how am i ever gonna get outta debt with so much good stuff coming out?!? I might have 2 ask 4 that 4 Christmas. Is the new Greatest Hits album gonna pick up where Greatest Misses left off or will it compile all the hits thru' out their career??
There's a lot of great stuff comin' out now, for a while there wasn't much I was interested in buying, that DVD comes out the same day as "Sharktale Soundtrack" with the new Big Will track and then the next week Nas and Talib Kweli drop their albums! I've only been listening to PE only since 2000, I bought "He Got Game" Soundtrack, in 2002 I bought "20th Century Masters: The Best Of Public Enemy", in 2003 I bought "RevolvolutioN" which is the latest release from them it has about 6 new tracks(including one where they diss George W. Bush "Son Of a Bush") and the rest is remixes and performances of their greatest hits it was very well done, and recently I bought "It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back" and I've been playing that everyday since I bought it! :switch: They have so many releases I need to buy still, I ain't gonna front though, my CD collection has only about 150 in it, and I have about 100 cassettes, so I don't really have a full catalog of any artist, unlike AJ who has a warehouse of music at his house! I'm surprised that I have more Public Enemy CDs at my house then you do! :sonny:
5. I guess it's my moment to make an appearance By request I'm puttin' your gay **** in clearance 'Cause certain opponents say outdated lyrics when fearing That their image won't bring a platinum plaque here again So even when you battle you mention "Girls, Girls, Girls" in the flow If I wanted to hear some slow **** I would put on Luther Vandross But now's not the time to do that I gotta come jot the rhymes your crew lacks When they ghost rhyme all your foolish girl tracks If you take these lines too personal, put on period pads 'Cause your crying on like you're bleeding through your ass Since you're excited over why we dissed you Now is the time that we dismiss you Clown rhymes are pitiful You bite legends rhymes like a pitbull But you sound like a pup The only way you turn on girls is if you found them drunk 'Cause when they're sober they know you're a punk And it occurs that I made you bluff Slicing through your nerves as I would to a cake crust
6. What's up y'all I found out this on: PublicEnemy.com "Recently in LA Mistachuck recorded the final voiceover for the new Universal DVD Power To The People And The Videos; The Complete Video Collection of Public Enemy. With over 22 videos this DVD WILL BE RELEASED THE SAME DAY sept 21st 2004 as the essential CD greatest hits collection, Power To The People And The Beats, throught the newly formed Public Enemy Archive Series leading to as many as 8 dvds 2 essential deluxe editions of FEAR and Nations and the unprecedented boxset next year. WHoa." I read on that website that they're also working on 2 new CD's to be released within the next year and that they recorded a song with Moby for the '04 Olympics Soundtrack, and they were at Charlie Mack's All-Star Jam in Philly recently, so Public Enemy's still going strong after almost 2 decades! :switch:
7. I liked the poem, I can feel the emotion! :thumb:
8. I like Talib Kweli too, he's a great lyricist with an aggressive flow. Does he have a single out now? Wow, it's been awhile but now I'll have some new hip-hop CDs to buy! :switch: I got that new LL CD last week which is crazy, I still wanna get that new KRS-ONE CD with that bonus DVD but I don't see it in any of the stores so I'll have to order it online, I was almost forgetting about that Roots CD I wanna get that too, and when those Nas and Talib Kweli CDs come out I wanna get those too!
9.
U know how rappers like Jadakiss try 2 do songs like "Why" and try 2 be all deep and serious about it, but u can never take them serious. Well, this is one of those legit postive songs.
I think Jadakiss did that song just for popularity 'cause it seemed kind of awkward for him to do a song like that, it would've been better if DMX did that song 'cause he always bring emotion when he rhymes, I was surprised that DMX retired last year 'cause I enjoyed his videos and songs since he didn't represent that bling-bling era that others rappers were over these last 5 years, he was speaking from the heart in his songs. First Deion Sanders is coming back, now MC Hammer too? I'm looking forward to seeing the video even though I haven't been that much into him but he could drop some knowledge on the younger cats out now.
10. The reason why they probably asked Cassidy about Will is 'cause Cassidy is from Philly too. Hey there are other rappers out there that spend millions of dollars of jewlery and don't give money to charity.
11. Cassidy is a new artist who doesn't know Will so he shouldn't say **** like that!
12. Hey I'm chillin' in the chat room right now if anyone wants to join me! :thumb:
13. I think Nas will find another record label after this album, but he has his own independent label already called Ill Will Records(named after his friend Ill Will that was killed). I like his group the Bravehearts, they're one of the better groups in hip-hop but they get overshadowed 'cause of the success of Nas like the Outlawz do 'cause of the success of 2Pac. I don't know how well this new album is gonna do saleswise 'cause "Thief's Theme" hasn't been getting much airplay, but there's no doubt regardless that this album is gonna be dope 'cause Nas has never disappointed me, he always comes with something hot!
14. bigted

My rhyme

That rhyme's dope, I can smell a battle! How u gonna respond to that J-O-E?
15. Why would wanna remake a song from somebody that does songs with B2K, that's wack! You gotta be able to take criticism if you wanna make it, if somebody doesn't like they don't like it, you could do better, if you can't take the heat don't rap! :ditto:
16. I like the song a lot, I like that you like to let the audience know about your life through your songs, a lot of rappers are fake but you rap straight from the heart, keep on flowing!
17. Right now I'm listening to the Tribe Called Quest album "The Low End Theory", I really want to hear a new album from them! Gotta give it up to them 'cause they're a legendary group!
18. em was a better rapper when he was underground, since he became famous he's been saying the same **** over and over like Jay-Z does now who was also another rapper that was better as an underground mc. I don't think I'll be buying his album when it comes out, but that's just my opinion, and I'm not gonna stop you from buying it if you want to. Considering that there's more white people buying hip-hop than black people you'd figure that there'd be more white rappers in the game than em. I'm not being racist at all when I say that I'm just saying that since all kinds of people listen to hip-hop there should be more diversity of different kinds of rappers in the game, it'd only make sense. :ditto:
19. I don't like "No More" too much, it's too mellow of a song to have after "Potnas" on "Willenium", if that track was off the album and a song like "Holla Back" in it's place "Willenium" would be even more of hip-hop classic.
20. All I care is that Will's album's dope, if it's hot, people will buy it, he don't have to put out no gimmick single to sell records, Eminem can do whatever he wants, stop comparing Eminem with Will, Eminem can't be a serious threat to Will lyrically 'cause Will's been in the game for almost 20 years and it doesn't matter how much records he sells from this point on!
21. You're right for the mainstream this Eminem is a major threat but if a lot of people like "Switch" it won't mean much of a difference, but I don't think Will should change the release date 'cause Eminem's droppin', there's gonna come a time when those fans who bought Eminem's previous albums turn their back on him, so that means that Will should ignore Eminem and just drop the album whenever he wants to drop it, the people have to make a choice what album they want and if they buy Eminem's album so be it, it doesn't take anything away from Will.
22. I would like to hear MC Hammer dissin' Eminem, I never heard him diss anybody before.
