  1. Controversy sells...looks like Nas is crying for attention to sell his record! Very sad day for hip hop, when a legend like Nas goes that way, i guess hip hop is really dead.

    Bill Cosby:

The n-word was, and still is, a very hateful word. It was at the forefront of the civil rights movement. That word stripped black people of their humanity, and made them second class citizens

  2. Willenium is a great album, but L&F is way much better! L&F is lyricwise lightyears above Willenium and when it comes to production Willenium is a little better. What a lot of people forget is the impact this album made on the hip hop community! L&F even it sold just 700000 records reestablished Will's status as a hip hop legend. In 2005 Will was all in hip hop communities mouth...from rappers to media (allhiphop.com) to critics and fans or people in general (ama)!

  3. Rhianna and Neyo are RnB artists...and Def Jam is a hip hop label...the reason i said he sucks as the head of label is that he doesn't support hip hop acts like he has to! That's like Dr. Dre signing Christina Aguilera and putting her in the foreground and claiming that his label is still number one hip hop label!

  4. Jay-Z isn't doing a good job as a CEO on Def Jam...He is promoting Young Jeezy, Rhianna, Neyo, etc. and isn't there for promoting The Roots, Method Man, Red Man, Nas, LL and DMX left they label! The last 4 helped Def Jam to get hip hop crown back when gansta rap was taking over! LL's criticism at the beginning was justified! Jay is now supporting commercial mainstream rap garbage and rnb, when def jam is HIP HOP!

  5. This should be interesting and very entertaining! Who wins this battle, will be the real GOAT!

LL ended Kool Moe Dee's, Ice T, MC Hammer and Canibus (although Canibus won the battle, he lost the war) career...His last two albums sucked and it'll be great if he becomes old LL again and gives Jay-Z ether part 2!

  6. The reason 50 lost to Kanye is because he made money off dissing other people, which was not necessary! Get Rich or Die Tryin was hot, but nothing groundbreaking! Banging Beats by Dre, good flow and deliverance , Eminems White America Stans and Interscope's great promotion of his criminal past!

Afterthat he went on dissing Ja Rule, Fat Joe, Jadakiss, Jay-Z,Nas, Dr. Dre, The Game, Oprah wWinfrey, Samuel L. Jackson, Spike Lee and Black People in general! Also he went arrogant by saying he is the best because he did good numbers (sales)!!! quality is not equal to quantity...50 knocked himself out!

  7. Rapper 50 Cent recently commented on his first week's album sales projections, which estimate that his new album Curtis will move 550-600,000 units, about 200,000 less than Kanye West's new album Graduation.

The two rappers have been engaged in a "feud" over who's album would top the album charts over the past few months.

50 Cent appeared on Angie Martinez' Hot 97 show today (September 12) and blamed the album's second place status on Interscope Records.

"To be honest the process of selling this record hasn't been fun," 50 Cent said. "I'm happy with the performance, but I'm not happy with the set up. We had conference calls and after we created this plan, nobody actually had a plan."

According to first day sales data, Kanye West's Graduation is outselling 50 Cent's Curtis by a wide margin.

50 Cent also issued a warning to Def Jam, claiming he would release a new album every time the label had a big release.

"Hypothetically, if I came in under Kanye West, I would release a new album every time Def Jam had a priority. I would release a record verses every one of their top priorities," 50 Cent said.

50 Cent also said that he was finished with Interscope after the release of his next album, which will fulfill his contractual obligations to the label.

"It was the label," 50 Cent said. "They're dropping the ball all over the place. I'll release my next album and then I'm a free agent."

  8. I saw this coming...I am Legend, then John Hancock (the movie title sounds so whack, the person who gave the idea to remove tonight he come should be shot)...and now Seven Pounds! We will definately have no music in 2008...This is sad, because Will always released an album after a 2 year or 3 year break!

    Big Willie Style 1997

    Willenium 1999

    Born to Reign 2002

    Lost and Found 2005

If we don't get an album at least in 2009, we can finish the music debate!

  9. I think on allhiphop.com 30% voted for Beanie Siegel  ...21 % for Will and third was Cassidy I think with 10%...It surprised me that Black Thought was low on the listing...as most of you I would have put him on second place after Will!!! I will search for the link and then post it...I thin we'll have to put a propaganda video on youtube with the title King of Philly with snippets of all music videos of Will Smith aka Fresh Prince! It would be dope if someone does it! These fools nowadays have to realize who is really the king of philly!

  10. maybe it depends on if ksmith blows up or not...it could also be that he supports people in the background (e.g. executive producing etc.) and searches for someone who goes the direction he went in the hip hop world (nick cannon???), because nowadays there is no rapper who could fill his shoes!
