  2. good job, very solid mixtape! everything sounded good my fav. tracks of it are (in no order): whats happening wannabe feel like quitting it gets my approval, lol like it matters, and i will listen to it again, many times :respect:
  3. ha, its downloaded, time to listen :2thumbs:
  4. aaaah, he doesnt have the New Music Seminar Battle of 1985 when he beat Roxanne Shante in the finals (even though i felt she won)... good battle however

  8. he came by when i was in Elementary School, told me to say Nope to Dope and thats all I needed Thank You Crime Dog TRUE STORY!
  9. PeaceAngel, please stop taking excedrins, your going to overdose one day... im very worried about you please take care of yourself :shakehead: :nolachen: :shakehead:
  10. his album might be in the top 15-20 for hiphop albums this past year but as far as being one of the best today, id say no, not yet... i see him like a Monta Ellis (Guard for the G.S. Warriors), filled with potential, can make great highlights but is still very young (to the game), wont shine now but if he stays consistant, will shine soon. thats the best way i can describe him
  11. when youve heard and listened to what ive listened to and taken hiphop further than the average hiphoppa, your level of whats good, whats average and whats bad are redefined... im not saying he's bad, just average... he has good presence, decent lyrics and overall i dont think he deserves half the spotlight he's recieved, YET. i like that he's himself but like i said, he's a bit over-rated because people hear an artist who doesnt speak on violence and negativity 24/7 and put him as hiphops future and saviour... im not knocking him, i hope he does good for hiphop but when i rank people and decide whats good or not, im doing it not amongst whats out now, but over a span of 30+ years of hiphop
  12. its funny, i dont smoke and never will smoke but the songs about smoking are so damn relaxing, lol, i listen to them from time to time cause theyre so nice here's a few of my favorites krayzie bone - smokin' budda bone thugs-n-harmony - pod bone thugs-n-harmony - buddah lovaz cashmere the pro - smoke out and for everyone trying to make Wes feel ashamed for smokin' weed... let him do his thing, its his decision... i personally dont like it, but i have no power to stop him, its his choice so let him be himself
  13. ha ive only bought two albums from that list Ghostface - More Fish Mos Def - Tru3 Magic im not a fan of lupe(most over-rated IMO), clipse(their content isnt much appealing to me), jay-z(never was a fan) and even nas(just his last cd)
  14. 1. Malcolm X 2. Roots 3. The Color Purple 4. The Shawshank Redemption 5. Do the Right Thing 6. OldBoy 7. Higher Learning 8. American Beauty 9. Taxi Driver 10. Bamboozled *The Temptations(a movie id claim to be in my top10 but when making a list, theres too many movies) This is a tought list, I know when I think about it further I'd have left out a few that may have consideration for it, but thats roughly the list for me.
  15. :shakehead: and not mine?... lol 07 will be a great year for music, i have a good feeling
  16. haha, this has anticipation written all over it.... expect some heat from that Brakes and Ace track, thats all ima say
  17. this is me dunking nasty on this one dude at the park this past summer the quality is bad cause it was taken as a screen shot off a video from a digi. cam and im only 6'1''(and 3/4's)
  18. * went backstage at the Wu-Tang (Meth, Rza, Inspectah Deck and Masta Killa) concert in Austin * produced over 50 beats in a 3 month span while working, going to college and dropping The Magnificent Mixtape * met Jurassic 5, Zion, Deuce Eclipse, Pigeon John & Ras Kass(at the Rakim concert) after their shows * read about 6 or 7 books from religion to history and philosophy (even Shakespeare) * went to Las Vegas, played craps, won some cash and had a great time * lost and gained a few friends due to my love for music * isolated myself at random times for the span of a week, focusing on the Mindfulness of my self being * never drank or sipped one alcoholic beverage or smoked anything (never have and never will) * self educated myself to become an Egyptologist (studied nearly 150hrs in 5months) * debated against 2 philosophy professors over the origins of greek philosophy (we had different views of how it started and this took hours) * grew a HUGE crush on Goapele after seeing her on a dvd this past summer... i thought and still think that she's one of the most beautiful people alive
  19. r.i.p. to one of the greatest musicians and entertainers of all time this is a big loss in music... the man was irreplaceable James Brown will forever rest in peace :worried:
  20. hiphops not dead... if you keep repeating it then your mind will subconsciously begin to re-act and think in that manner i disagree with Nas on toooooo many things to believe that he will save HipHop for example... cough*cough*, song with jay-z and signing with DeafJam (yea i spelled it right) For all the Jay-Z fans, take a look at this and tell me if this is suppose to represent HipHop "...and the music i be makin'/ i dumb down for my audience/ and double my dollars/ they criticize me for it/ yet they all yell holla/ if skills sold, truth be told/ i'd probly be, lyrically Talib Kweli/ truthfully, i wanna rhyme like Common Sense/ *but i did five mil* i aint been rhymin like common since/ when your sense got that much in common/ and you been hustlin since/ your inception, f*ck perception/ go with what makes cents/" First Jay-Z admits to dumbing down his lyricism for marketable themes and more listeners. Second he's basically saying, im not going rap how i want to, but by what sells and how much i can make off the listeners. He's affraid of going against the grain and being himself. He wants the money, he's recording and dumbing down his rhymes for more money. Thats not HipHop at all. I was pissed off when i heard that because i knew millions of people would hear that and think it was cool and the right thing to do because "Jigga" said it. He's always been a joke to me and i can not respect him at all for that. ps. Where Big L's respect for putting Jay on back in the day. This dude is a devil in HipHop, im serious.... fooling the majority to gain his own riches. Now he's the Pres. of DeafJam, hmmmmmm yea... and Nas is with him now... i hope Nas watches his back.
  21. got some good news and bad news.... bad news: the lighting was bad and the test videos i tried recording to see how it would look ended up being pitch black... so there is no video of it... im pretty dissapointed cause i really wanted a video of it good news: i went from being the 3rd performer to being the headline act and when i finished my set i recieved basically a standing ovation of about 200 people in the place... it was a great feeling and i made some connections with people visiting from other cities and states who are now looking to help me perform in other cities and possible radio programs so overall the night was great... i gained alot fans and a few groupies, lol, but i promise that ima get a video to yall sooner or later... yall deserve it and i want to show people how i can perform live thanx for the support, peace!
  22. i got me a concert tonight here in my home city of Corpus Christi... should be a nice sized crowd... it should be video taped and im planning on putting it on youtube so be patient for the next couple of days i have like a 15 minute set... and im very excited to rock the mic well im about to leave to the event right now... wish me luck... PEACE
