Yo, did anyone buy this yet? I doubt that any of my local stores have it in yet, but I think I'm going to go to Best Buy to check.

DJ Jazzy Jeff

Hip Hop Forever III

(Rapster ***1/2)

On his second mix CD for the Rapster label, longtime local hero Jeff Townes, as usual, shines by pointing the spotlight at others. On Hip Hop Forever III, a follow-up to 2004's HHF II, Will Smith's better half digs into his crates to tell a personalized version of hip-hop history, blending cuts by heavy hitters such as Eric B. and Rakim and A Tribe Called Quest with lesser-knowns such as Canadian MC Saukrates and New York conscious rapper Mister Complex. It's a smooth, idiosyncratic mix that subtly shows off Townes' scratching and production techniques and is a reminder that beneath the pop veneer of DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, there was some serious musicality at work.

Just picked up my copy. Only just stuck it on though. But got that ITS JAZZY Siren intro that i love.

Got the 2CD version for £11.99 which i didn't think was too bad for a brand new release in the stores. HMV to be precise.

I'll give a review later.

I'm sure it'll turn up tommorow.

As for my review. Its a good mix CD, nothing outstanding but its JJ after all so i can't help but love it. Worth picking up in my opinion. The inlay cover is pretty cool. Got some nice Jeff photos from 2002, and a little reminder that TROTM is out in 2007.
