Off of my upcoming album "So Fresh" Hook: Daddys Scarin Melanie: gotta Get out U gotta get out u gotta get out Daddys doin felonies: gotta get out u gotta get out u gotta get out In Mels mind a haunted melody: gotta get out u gotta get out u gotta get out If I stay'll be the end of me gotta get out get out mel escape from the hell yo, it was a normal family or at least it seemed to be the mom a lovin mom and the daddy real manly he had a drinkin problem, nothing serious mel always wondered bout daddy real curious delirious after daddy came home wasted, liked goin to school so she could escape it, it got worse and worse until he pulled a gun, a smile on his face he was havin fun, the mom speechless, she didnt know what to do, protect her child but keep the family from splittin into pieces, peaceless, the family became everyday and everynight it remained the same, Hook melanie hears footsteps so she hides in the closet daddy busts down the door like he's a rocket she scared because hes had too much to drink quickly stumbling throwin up in the sink afraid to wink shes just trembelin so weak, cant speak, just think find out the missing link, to her problems tryin to solve them all at once, daddy kickin n screamin actin straight up nuts, must stay strong, mommy passed out on the floor, stay out the light, look up, pray to the lord dad falls over and the gun fires, mel bolts like a flame straight out a wildfire dad yellin "come back here, just want to touch you" melanie be runnin speed is a virtue dad chases mel down the long hall, mel jumps out the window a brutally long fall, gets up, broken leg, starts to beg, for god to take this unfair load off her chest, mel limped off into the starry night, i let her in my house cause its only right she told me her story and how she escaped hell daddy od'ed and momma had a long suicide fell, and the sad story almost has a happy ending, she livin with me, and melanies pretending not to remember dads knife, or the pain of strife, she says when shes with me, she feels the greatness in life and i love her much to me she precious she has a story, and to the world she is a message yo Hook (2x) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
