WHEN THE RADIO IS ON

Recommended Posts

In 1989, Paul Shaffer (David Letterman's right hand man) released and album with a track called "When The Radio Is On" that features a rare, nearly un-heard of rap by Fresh Prince. Just 2 years ago we found the 12" single of this song (featuring remixes) on ebay. Well, 12" is nice and all..but we all know CD quality is superior. Well while i waz checkin' out ebay 2nite, i found the CD PROMO SINGLE of this track (which i didn't know existed). Much 2 my luck, it waz on Buy It Now for only $5.99. Just wanted 2 share my joy with y'all.

I just got it in the mail 2day...i'm listening 2 it right now. I'm so happy 2 have it on CD and not just on vinyl. Of course i waz happy b4 cuz i didn't know it waz on CD...ha ha.

I like the way they have these 50's/60's doo-wop vocals...but this production just sounds a bit 2 dated for 1989. I guess that what happens when u mix Paul Shaffer and Russle Simmons. Still a dope song. I like alot of 60's music so it's cool 2 have FP flowing over a track that has this extra old-skool feel.
