Will Smith`s Weird Ending Clause

If you have recently found yourself feeling a little lost after leaving the theater of a Will Smith film, it`s ok - you`re supposed to. This is completely normal, and in no way caused by you, response is due to a rider in Will Smith`s current movie contract. This rider in no way changes his salary, affects his commission or royalties, nor restricts him from adding to soundtracks; it does however grant him full creative rights over the 4th quarter of the script. It is at this point in the pre-production process where Will Smith will do re-writes, edits, and augmentations to the script in which the story will be altered to accommodate a new ending that Will Smith has come up with independently, well before the original story for the movie was written.

After the final draft has been written by and then approved that same day in the same room without interruption by Will Smith, the production process begins, no other actor of executive questions it, and Will Smith`s IMDB profile gets a billion more hits. The trailer may compromise the plot and give away key scenes but the new ending will remain pure and untouched. Possibly deterring fans from seeing the movie because the movie seems predictable or trite, thus affecting the co-stars but not Will Smith.

Will Smith will still draw in the audiences when word gets out that it`s good "the ending is different "but it`s good, I think. I don`t know, maybe you should just wait till it`s on TV. Nobody has enough will power to side step that kind of curiosity that review will elicit.

Nobody is exactly sure when the ride was put into effect. It was more than evident in late 2006 and since has been in full bloom, although leaving many wondering if it first occurred in Men In Black 2 or the odd leg shot of Gene Hackman in Enemy of the State. If it did occur in the latter, the rider obviously laid dormant for such movies as Ali and Shark Tale. Sometime around 1998, though, it seems apparent that Will Smith started writing and compiling new endings for future projects. It also seems that Will Smith did not mean to plan too far ahead nor mix and match endings to plots - this has been theorized by remixing endings of his projects and finding that the ending of Seven Pounds would fit perfectly at the end of Shark Tale (a movie where the rider was not acknowledged) as well as the out of place and forced theme of fate at the end of I Am Legend, which suspiciously fits comfortably at the end of 2005`s Hitch and 2006`s The Pursuit of Happyness.

These endings may have been scrambled and out of place due to some mild confusion in 2000 when Will Smith did some acting for a Men In Black ride at Universal Studios in which Will Smith already used up a very appropriate ending for a Men In Black story with two Rosario Dawson endings to come up with in the near future while being fresh out of ideas.

Evidence appears to point to an unorganized system that Will Smith has been employing from around the late 90`s. If any of you have researched him lately, you know he has many projects coming up and this two year hiatus has hopefully been spent on writing new, original endings.

Overbrook producing 'Harold and the Purple Crayon'

Quote

I’ll concede that this may not interest too many folks, but like Spike Jonze’s Where the Wild Things Are, this particular big screen version of a children’s classic intrigues me because I have a two-year-old, and he loves the hell out of Harold and the Purple Crayon (whenever he wears footie pajamas, he pretends to be Harold).

Now, before you get all up in a nipple-twisting zorker about a feature movie version of Harold and start foaming at the pant leg about desecrated childhood memories, maybe knowing who is behind the project will ease your mind to a degree. For this kind of movie, you could hardly ask for a better producer than Maurice Sendak (who was a protege of Crockett Johnson, the write of Harold and the Purple Crayon), who I hope is involved to keep an eye on the project to ensure it maintains the spirit of the source material. It’s set up at Will Smith’s Overbook Entertainment, under the Sony Pictures Animated unit, so both Will Smith and James Lassiter are also producing.

It doesn’t appear to be a live action hybrid or anything distasteful like that — it’s a pure animation project (CGI, no doubt). A feature movie had been in the works previously, and they’d even mustered up a script from Michael Tolkin, who wrote Nine and Changing Lanes (and Gleaming the Cube for old school Christan Slater fans).

Josh Klausner (Date Night, Shrek the Third) has been brought in to rewrite the script, which is not exactly confidence-inspiring. But the tone is said to be similar to A Neverending Story, which would be nice since this generation doesn’t yet have its Neverending Story (though, as I recall, there’s a remake in the works).

The movie will follow Harold, who uses his magic purple crayon to retreat into his own fantasy world, but soon realizes that he’s been selfish with his crayon and so uses it to help his parents and others, and even go on a mission to Mars.

There is not yet a director, though if I had my druthers, they’d bring in Phil Lord (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs).

Will to star in Hitchcock remake

Awful idea...

http://www.latinoreview.com/news/exclusive-hitchcock-s-suspicion-being-remade-9308

"Hola Chicos, Pinche Taco here with the latest blatherings de nada de los Ninos de Hollywood!

I've heard some crazy things in my time. For example, one of them was when an A List director started a company designed to just remake perfectly good horror films. That became Platinum Dunes. They remake films like Amityville Horror and Chainsaw Massacre and Friday the 13th, and the remakes are not as good as the originals. Sure the producers make money. Pero how do they sleep en la noches? From what I can tell, they messed up the Freddy remake too. These guys even wanted to redo Rosemary's Baby. I mean, chingate, right?

I only bring them up because they are attached to remake THE BIRDS. Now remaking Hitchcock es estupido. Just ask Gus Van Sant You can be LIKE Hitchcock, which is what Brian De Palma does for a living. But don't remake el hermano. There is no point. The movies work as it is.

Well the latest report from El Taco Supremo has Will Smith getting ready to produce and star in a remake of Hitchcock's SUSPICION. Will is planning to play the Cary Grant part. Que un chiste!

If you never saw the original, lady marries a guy she falls head over hills with, but el mujer spends too much time at home and starts to wonder if hubby is a killer. She soon becomes convinced of it. And dig it, the audience gets to wonder if he is or if she is crazy.

Now in the original book, called BEFORE THE FACT, he is a killer. Hitch was forced to make it like he wasn't. Will will probably have it all blamed on poor Xenu!

Anyways, this is supposed to end up at Paramount, the studio that doesn't have that many films even happening anymore, but hey, they have Will's fellow Hubbard chum Cruise in Mission Unwatchable 4 so I am sure they are happy. RKO is the company that owns the rights but I am not sure what they have to do with this. See they went out of business in 1958 but haven't realized it!

Yo soy El Taco y yo digo adios!"

You don't remake Hitchcock, he's one of the masters. If true, this will make uproar about the Karate Kid remake look like nothing.

'Zombieland' Writers Want Big Effects, Will Smith for 'Earth vs. Moon'

Nearly two years after would-be blockbuster “Earth vs. Moon” was snatched up following a bidding war between four studios, the writers of the red-hot script have become even hotter. But, now that they’re better known as the creators of “Zombieland” and have sequels in the works to that film, “G.I. Joe” and “X-Men” character Deadpool, where does that leave the sci-fi epic – and their hopes to someday film it with Will Smith?

“’Earth vs. Moon’ is in the background,” explained writer Rhett Reese, when we interviewed him along with partner Paul Wernick and asked for an update on the long-simmering project. “We’ve written a first draft. We’ll be writing a second draft at some point.”

So, if everyone loved the script in early 2008, what’s the hold-up? “It’s really big; bigger than you might imagine, it’s even bigger than that - it’s a big, monster of a movie,” explained Reese, whose “Zombieland” is now flying off DVD and Blu-Ray shelves. “And yet, at its core it has some real heart.”

The film is based on a concept by Stephen Hawking of all people – who has spoken about the human need to colonize other worlds and set up back-up societies that could correct the mistakes of our experiences on this planet. From that unlikely source, Wernick and Reese have conceived a film that would pit Earth’s residents against a colony of moon settlers, in what would basically be a civil war.

“It’s set in the future,” Reese explained. “It’s about a war between Earth and a colony on the moon that was established as a means of first colonization by Earth.”

“It’s about a fractured family - some of the family members are on the moon, some are on earth - so it has a real personal feel to it,” he continued. “It’s also grand in scope, it’s got a lot of cool weapons, a lot of cool action, and we’re happy [with its development]. We’re going to keep on improving it, and get it into theaters.”

How big will the movie be? Well, Reese and Wernick say that there will be a need for some impressive special effects – and in their mind, there’s one international superstar who could topline the project and get it to the right tentpole-level. In fact, they’re so eager to land the actor that they even named their main character Will.

“It’s something we’ve always wanted Will Smith to do - we really wrote the character for him, so we hope [his participation] happens at some point,” Reese said. “[We would be] the star; he’s on earth…an earthling.”

“[With modern CG], we can write anything and they can make it happen - but for a reasonable budget, that may not be the case,” he added, admitting that although the movie is high-concept, a good director could make it work. “You don’t want to write a small movie with a big action scene sitting in the middle of it…when you approach your movie, you have to have budget in mind…so that you don’t get completely nuts, and between that you can be completely free with your imagination and do crazy stuff. Because the visual effects people - ‘Avatar’ has proven - can literally do anything. Anything you can imagine, they can do - which [for writers] is very freeing.”

What do you think of the “Earth vs. Moon” concept? Would you like to see it become a Will Smith vehicle?

On fire for nightmare on my street video in 2010

It's 2010 man and no one has seen the video with Smith jump'n on beds run'n from freddy? this ain't cool. I started getting interested in will when I saw how cool he was in shows then got into the big screen. Yeah he's cool and should dig up that old video and remind the new line cinema that he boosted their sales on freddy. He deserves to see that video live. He better respect from them too. who do them guys in the new line cinema think they are to begin with? I can see that if I were to defend will when they did that about the video I'd have given new line some things to think on. but then again they probably have no brains to think with since they got nothing but new carpet and new seats to think of instead of respecting true talent boosting up their sales far better than that. I'd like to see how well they can get up and hip hop and be bop with the best of the rappers we have now. New line cinema has now taste nor do they have any " soul" . amen and amen.

All I'd be asking will smith is to let the fans have that video cause he took the time to make it and he has fans that haven't seen it yet and they deserve to see it. It also means that if
he finds it and puts it up for all to see he would remind everyone that this is america and we still have freedom and we should even fight for a video even if it means new line cinema looking bad. Principle of the thing man. peace.
