Will Smith's company setting up remake of Spanish laffer at Fox

Will Smith's Overbrook Entertainment is materializing on "Ghost Graduation," setting up a remake of the Spanish comedy at Fox.

Overbrook, operated by Smith, James Lassiter and Ken Stovitz closed its producing deal Friday. The banner is looking to hire a writer to pen the adaptation, but there's no plan for Smith to star.

With elements of "Ghost," "The Breakfast Club" and "The Sixth Sense," story centers on a teacher with paranormal abilities who helps a group of ghosts confined to the high school where they died years earlier in a fire. The Spanish pic, "Promocion Fantasma," was directed by Javier Ruiz Caldera and released earlier this year. Gary Glushon is overseeing for Overbrook.

Shingle is also producing sci-fier "1000 A.E." for Sony with M. Night Shyamalan directing and Smith and son Jaden starring. Studio's set a June 7, 2013 release date.

This is probably the best I've ever heard Jada on record. Unfortunately I never got Wicked Wisdom's first album and never got into their metal stuff. On this new track, her voice sores and she sounds better than ever. It's vulnerable, raw, and even a little dark/haunting. Check it.

It seems Jada Pinkett Smith is trying to put those pesky divorce rumors to rest.
On Tuesday, the actress used her Facebook page to release a new song, "Burn," dedicated to her husband of 14 years, Will Smith. On the track, Pinkett Smith sings, "Can you feel my heartbeat?/Next to yours?/Stay here within me/Never leave me/I want to burn."
In a note accompanying the song, the actress wrote:

The split rumors emerged last August, when In Touch Weekly reported that the couple had allegedly separated. In a statement releasedshortly after the report, the couple denied the claims: "Rumors circulating about our relationship are completely false," it read. "We are still together, and our marriage is intact."
Still, the rumors continued to circulate, with sources claiming that Pinkett Smith had met with celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser in early January, though the couple was spotted together later that month at a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game.

Men in Black 2 is Coming to Blu-ray

Men in Black has been available on Blu-ray for nearly four years yet its inferior sequel, Men in Black 2, has failed to make the leap to high definition.

Thanks to a new listing at Amazon.com, it appears Men in Black 2 will finally get to see the light of day in 1080p video on May 1. The reason it's coming this year versus say 2008, 2009, 2010 or 2011 isn't because Men in Black was feeling lonely. In case you weren't aware, Men in Black 3 starring Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin and Alice Eve will debut theatrically on May 25, 2012.

There's really nothing else to share about Men in Black 2 coming to Blu-ray at this time other than it is coming. I'll pass along additional details about the release once Sony makes their official announcement.

Sony is looking for the funny in "Interpol," snapping up a comedy pitch by the writing team of Jonathan Keasey and Brant Boivin and setting it up with Will Smith's Overbrook Entertainment.

Keasey and Boivin are scripting "Interpol," centered on a group of desk jockey Interpol agents turn over their research to seasoned law enforcement agents who do the actual arresting of criminals. The groups are forced to switch roles when a cache of information outs the field officers.

Sony-based Overbrook, operated by Smith, James Lassiter and Ken Stovitz, is producing. Overbrook is also producing sci-fier "1000 A.E." for Sony with M. Night Shyamalan directing and Smith and son Jaden starring. Studio's set a June 7, 2013 release date.

Keasey and Boivin have been working on another project at Overbrook. Scripting duo is repped by Paradigm managed by Kaplan Perrone.
