1.
and if Will and Jeff will come back toghether 4 a full disc they will just look like 2 old guys that try 2 remake they great career and i'm not sure it will work... I think that just 3 or 4 tracks from all the disc need 2 b with Jeff not more...
JJ&FP could still be successful if they release full length album together, look at how successful the Beastie Boys are right now and they're around the same age as JJ&FP and their album's currently in the top 10 on the Billboard charts. :nana:
2. Well we could also say that the reason why the sales lacked was 'cause it was released around the time where Big Will couldn't seriously promote it that much considerin' that he was promoting MIB2 and started shooting BB2 around that time. When "Black Suits Comin'" (Nod Ya Head) came out in June, the "Born To Reign" album was released that same month, but that wasn't a good idea. By the time the 2nd single "1000 Kisses" came out the album fell off the charts already! I was surprised that the album fell off the charts that fast 'cause it was a dope album, but most fans decided to buy Nelly's album instead! :cussing: "Big Willie Style" and "Willenium" sold a lot when they were released in the winters of '97 of '99, but they could've sold less if they were released the same time as "Men In Black" and "Wild Wild West" were. Think about it y'all if "Born to Reign" was released in the winter of '02 it would've been better for Big Will since he was done wit "MIB2" and finished shootin' "BB2" so he would've had time to shoot more videos but what was the point to do so then when the album had no more sales comin' in, the sales were dead when "1000 Kisses" came out, I was surprised that another single was even released, he needed a stronger song like "How The Beat Goes" or "Give Me Tonite" to revive sales in the album and "Block Party" could've been released last summer and the album would've gone multiplatinum.
3. That's why a lot of music artists go broke, the record company executives, whose names we never hear of have more dough than the artists believe it or not. The only why Big Will has so much cake is 'cause he does movies and he gets paid a hell lot more than he does as an MC, why do you think so many music artists are trying to act these days. Ultimately though, it's not fair to those who go to acting school for many years and they get snubbed by a platinum rapper who never studied acting before until now. If you wanna be in the music buisiness, you'll be more successful as an executive than you would as an artist, even though not many people would know your name, you won't have to worry about going broke.
4. If Will's doing so much recording music he should release a mixtape of a few of them tracks like 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Nas, and other rappers do to keep his name out in the street.
5.
LL COOL J AINT 36. Do the math he came out in 85 when he was 16. Just alittle bursting of the bubble there
Hey man LL Cool J was born on January 14, 1968 so YOU do the math here, I know what I'm talking about! :nana:
6. There's hope for Big Will still 'cause Kanye West is popular for the positive song "Jesus Walks"(I wouldn't imagine it getting played on TRL 'cause most rap videos played on there are ignorant booty shaking ones). You're right Jim, LL's keepin' his name out there and it could be the best that he's not as successful as Will in acting 'cause people pay attention more to his music not his movies. Being a worldwide famous actor for Will could be the gift and the curse(his movies doing very well, but most sell-out fans think that Will's just an actor trying to rap, not knowing that Will's been rapping since he was 12). I actually hope that one of Big Will's movies flop so that he could put more energy back into his music again, by going on tour and taking a break from actin'. P.S.-LL Cool J's 36 not 34 right now
7. TRL's corny! I rather see Will on 106& Park! TRL is straight bull****, they don't even play a minute of any of the music videos! :blah:
8. Will wasn't on it, damn it I watched TRL for nothin'! I was surprised that they played "Jesus Walks" by Kanye West on it though!
9. I don't think that Will's gonna be on it! :cussing:
10. Mase style's still corny, it doesn't matter if he curses or not, it's cool that he's talking about God, but I think that he should give up rapping, just my opinion!
11. What's up y'all I don't know if any of y'all caught the BET Awards last night but there was a great performance by hip-hop pioneers Sugar Hill Gang, Melle Mel, Slick Rick, MC Lyte, and PE, in celebrating 25 years of Hip-Hop on Wax! It was great, everyone in the crowd was rapping every word of all their songs, you can see how ol' school hip-hop has such great performances and emotion! :highfive:
12. From a lyricist's point of view it's the weakest FP album 'cause there was too much of Tra-Knox on it and not enough rhymin', but at the same time though the envelope was pushed when no other albums recently sound like that so you gotta give him credit for being creative! I personally rather hear him sing than a lot of other rappers that try to sing! But seriously though his next album has to be going back to the lyricism like when he started his career, songs like "He's The DJ, I'm The Rapper" where he's freestylin' and Jazzy Jeff is cuttin' would be deadly to these young cats out right now!
13. I hope u enjoy ur birthday! :dancingcool: :thumb:
14. Another battle that we have forgot to mention is KRS-ONE vs. Nelly. All real hip-hop fans know that KRS-ONE destroyed Nelly wit the song "Ova Here", while pop fans continued to ignore that and bought Nelly's garbage album that summer, which sold more than Born To Reign. :cussing:
15. Since P.Diddy's not in the running, I'm gonna go wit Vanilla Ice as the worst rapper of all time 'cause he annoys me the most!
16. Sorry that I'm not a big Canibus fan but it doesn't matter how many records you sell to be considered a legend. KRS-ONE and Rakim are always brought up as much if not more than LL Cool J and Will Smith are when it comes to the greatest M.C. of all time even though KRS-ONE and Rakim aren't Grammy award winners like LL Cool J and Will Smith. My point is Canibus ain't in the category and it has nothing to do with record sales!
17. This one is a no brainer, Benzino is worse than a kid rapper!
18.
For me Canibus easily beat LL!! 2nd round knockout was soooo good! Canibus was coming up wid loads of personals and attacks and i think generally was a better diss track. Ripper strikes back was just ALL responses to canibus' disses!! no original stuff, no personals, no nothing!! the only line which i think was credible and well flipped was: "Ask Canibus, he ain't understanding this/ Coz 99% of his fans-don't exist!/" That was classic!!
Canibus ripped LL? Where's Canibus now then if he did rip LL? I don't hear anyone say Canibus is a legend, they still say LL is a legend. If Canibus ripped LL so bad he would be getting more cred than what he has and he doesn't know how to make rap music 'cause what hot album did Canibus make? LL didn't have anything to prove to Canibus just like we say Will Smith doesn't have anything to prove to Eminem 'cause when you're a new rapper you can't just overtake a veteran that has been in the game for 15 years. That'd be like sayin' that Lebron James would beat Michael Jordan in one-on-one, it ain't happenin'.
19. Dope Promos that you guys made!
20. Keep ya head up Prince, glad to have ya back! Peace! :grouphug:
21. That's great to hear that JJ+FP are hangin' out more often, new tracks are definately in the works!
22.
i'll say it again..diamond d was not only a great producer..but he was probably the only 1 who had genuine skillz on the mic and could hold his own.. u guys gotta check out his stuff!
Wasn't Diamond D rapping on "The Score" song on the Fugees album back in '96? His verse was tight on that song!
23. Hey Common and Nas had beef? Jay-Z and Nas had a great battle a couple years ago. Nas proved that he could hold his own when Jay-Z was getting all the hype at that time.
24. Will should do more aggressive tracks and prove that he's tougher than people label him to be and if he would be on the same soundtrack as Britney that'd be corny!
