  1. Hey Variety and Hollywood Reporter are the serious reviews by real critics.. I wouldn't take much notice of the others..

Hey guys... haven't posted in a while but, Hero, Variety gave Speed Racer a pretty good review and look what everyone else said about that film... I think Hancock might do okay. Don't know though

  2. • On his rap style…

“I always wanted to rap in a way that I could be respected in a barbershop and on a mixtape level but also spit a rap to a straight, white, corporate dude and he would understand every word. I’m kind of like Jadakiss meets Will Smith.”

    ^^^^

that's just a part of the interview. Thought u guys would like 2 know

  3. I don't know if I'm the only one, but I don't agree with Will's new movie choices at all. Actually, I'm fine with him possibly doing "I Am Legend" or "Tonight, He Comes," but my problem lies in the two comedy roles Will's chosen to do. First of all, I know "Time Share" with Nic Cage is still in development but it sounds like a rehash of "A Johnson family Vacation." I also heard there was this kind of movie already done as a TV movie. Also, the new idea that Will might team up with Jamie Foxx for a remake of "Uptown Saturday Night" sounds like your typical, average urban comedy. It sounds like a "Honeymooners 2." If you haven't noticed, they are both similar to Cedric the Entertainer movies. Why is Will doin "Cedric" movies now? They're both mediocre. I feel like Will needs to step up the quality of his movies even though I know he wants to entertain. "Time Share" and "Uptown Saturday Night" sounds like your run of the mill, blah movies.

  4. I just don't like him because I feel he's exploiting black music. The reason why he got any fame at all is (and i'm being honest) is because he's white. If he was black and rapping the same thing, no one would really care. He's a teeny-bopper rapper who thinks he isn't. He's the only rapper that gets on TRL no matter how crappy the song and video. Since he came out, he took any any shine other rappers could possibly get. He and G-Unit are the only ones selling right now. His quality in songs have gone down too. I don't respect him as a person either. The only people he has the "courage" to diss are teeny-boppers, or deceased people. He shouldn't have dissed Will, Christopher Reeve, Sonny Bono, or Kurt Cobain. What have these people done to him?

  5. cool, i agree that Brad pitt should be in there too, i hope he hasnt had a nose job too lol.

there were rumors that brad Pitt had regular Botox injections. His face does look a bit different. Johnny Depp should be up there. The man is 42, smokes, but still looks great. It's unfair.

*For guys sayin Angelina Jolie- I totally agree. Except that she's still 30 so she's still too young to be that particular list. We'll see when she's 36+

  6. I'm not talking nonsense.  At Nick's age, FP only had done the overlooked sleeper Where The Day Takes You and Made In America (which waz good...but nothing but an altered version of Will from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air).  Ain't nothing wrong with Nick's movie and TV career.  He's on his way 2 big things.

FP, Jamie Foxx, LL, Latifah, etc all started out the same way.  Fight with me all u want, but at least come correct on your facts.

these aren't "facts" It purely your opinion that Nick Cannon has done some significant work in the movies. If u call his movies superior to Will's, then I'm afraid to know what your favorite movies of all-time were. Nick Cannon's movies have all been, to put it nicely, crap.

  7. Think about Nick's age...compared 2 FP at that age, Nick Cannon has already ran circles around FP's movie career at his early 20's.  Without FP paving the way...i doubt Nick Cannon could have accomplished so much on the movie front without FP's clearing the way.

are u kidding? How is Nick Cannon's movie career now superior to Will's when he was in his early 20's? Let's compare

    Nick

    Love Don't Cost a Thing

    Shall We Dance

    Drumline

    Garfield

other movies projects coming up doesn't even have him as the lead.

    Will

    Six Degrees of Separation

    Made in America

    Bad Boys

    Where the Day takes you

    started working on Independence Day

*Will and Nick both have had their share of crap movies (will did the stinker Made in America in his early 20's) yet I see no evidence of Nick's movie career being superior to Will's. Will was 24 when he started shooting Bad Boys, and people were talking about his leading man abilities. Not to metion he got top billing for Independence Day although it wasn't necessarily his movie. Independence Day established Will as a star, but Nick Cannon han't even got there yet. I looked up a list of Nick's upcoming movies like "roll Bounce" (another kiddie urban comedy), some movie with Lindsay Lohan (u could count that out as a "serious" film), and some other crap like "monster Hunter" and the "underclassmen." None of these movies put him as the lead (except for the one with Lindsay). Will of course has moved on to be one of the top grossing stars of all time. Nick Cannon isn't even a smudge on that list. AJ, u are talkin nonsense.

  8. I think it's really stupid that so many people have said "He'll never be like Will."  I'm not saying he'll be bigger or anything.  But in 1986, how many Hip-Hop fans do u think JJ+FP would never amount 2 anything.  Now Will Smith is one of the most popular people in the whole world.

no it's not really stupid. Will actually garnered more respect early in his career, and established himself as a solid Hollywood force. He had a huge TV hit, as we all know, and did serious movies, and a big action movie (Bad Boys) by the time he was 24 or 25. Nick cannon is what... 23 or 24 yrs old. People still look at him as a someNickelodeon child actor. He hasn't made the significant steps Will had. Seeing it as that, his movies are typical black, immature, ghetto comedies, but Will stepped out of that genre by the same age Nick is right now. AJ, it's dumber respecting someone like Nitty, (i forgot all about the guy) who hasn't even made a scrtach mark on the music scene. Plus, u say you respect people who don't talk about sex, yet what did Nitty's video include? Half-naked girls all dancin for him.

  9. another review from someone who went there...

    here's the full article http://www.delcotimes.com/site/index.cfm?B...3&PAG=461&rfi=9

    * Will Smith - Or, should I say - DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince? Maybe it was appropriate that Smith entered on a throne to the sound of "The Champ is Here" (from his movie "Ali") because when all was said and done for Live 8, Smith was exactly that - the best performer of them all. Smith performed four songs, and with each, he brought the crowd to a new level of frenzy that no one thought possible moments before.

Smith provided the most memorable musical moment of Live 8 when he had the entire crowd sing the theme song to his '90s sitcom "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." Everyone sang the song. I mean everyone. Smith didn't have to sing a word. He just stood on the stage, looked out over the crowd and smiled. He knew what was happening was something historic, and just let it be. The sound of 500,000 people singing will always be in my mind that's for sure, and probably everyone else's as well.

Then, to wrap up a tremendous set, Smith finished with "Summertime," another mega-hit that had a Philly flavor.

Smith did his hometown proud - and stole the show. A-plus.

    ^^^^^^^^^

he said Jay-Z and Will Smith were the best. alicia keys and Dave matthews were the worst.

  10. Nick will be nowhere near as successful as Will is. For one, Will is more accepted in the rap industry and movie industry. And sadly, there is a thing called looks which takes many people far. Nick Cannon does not have that appeal as far as I know.

  11. Yeah such a shame that Kurt killed himself.

Some people debate that. One girl in my music class last year said "Anyone who really understood Nirvana, knows he didn't kill himself" (or something along those lines)

that's right. People shouldn't be blind sided by the media reports that Kurt Cobain "killed himself." You guys can go to www.cobaincase.com or http://www.justiceforkurt.com/ for some info. Some good stuff there.

But I don't think the girl should have said "anyone who understood Nirvana knows he didn't kill himself, etc". No one really understands an artist unless you know them personally. A lot of my favorite artists like 2Pac and Kurt Cobain are still a mystery to me, and I've been a huge fan of theirs for ages.

  12. Nirvana were cool, but yeh they were over-rated. There are too many people that say they are the most importnat band in modern day rock.

Dave Grohl has moved onto a much better band in my opinion in The Foo Fighters

IMO people who have only heard "Smells like Teen Spirit" would say they're overrated. The Foo Fighters suck.

  13. They unseated Michael Jackson's "Thriller" album from the number one spot

    No the didn`t :wtf:

Thriller is stil the best seling Album ever!

    But Nevermind was cool..

re-read carefully sir. "thriller" is indeed the highest selling album of all time. however, Nirvana's album unseated Thriller FROM THE NUMBER ONE SLOT ON THE BILLBOARD CHARTS when it FIRST came out. Nevermind did NOT take over Thriller as the best selling album of all time, but it did boot Jacko from the number one spot on the charts to number two in 1991.

  14. Nevermind was a good album, their cover of David Bowie's "Man Who Sold The World" is fantastic. Apart from that they are one of the most overated groups ever, but i guess you cant deny their importance.

i wouldn't say they're overrated at all. Not only did they start a huge movement, Nirvana has done a lot in the music world. Kurt Cobain did not necessarily like being the "leader" of any movement, or the voice of the generation. I don't think he even understood why his words were so popular. They're overrated to people who weren't really "fans" in the first place. People who aren't fans wouldn't understand. They unseated Michael Jackson's "Thriller" album from the number one spot, and I think they were underrated before Kurt died. But people say artists aren't appreciated until after death, which is true sometimes. People thought 2Pac was just some thug until he died. Some people thought Kurt was a drug addict, ignorant rock musician until he died. I read some of his interviews and found him fascinating. He speaks out a lot about hating people who were homophobes, racists, and sexists. Which says a lot about a guy who's presumed to be just another rocker. Didn't u guys hear about his little feud with Guns n' Roses b/c of what they said about "immigrants and faggots?" I think Kurt isn't overrated because of the type of person he was. He definitely was not your typical rocker, and Nirvana's music shouldn't be typecast as overrated. I guess coming from a rap board, I shouldn't expect much love for people like Nirvana

  15. *one more important thing: When u vote, not everyone has to do it at one time. It will then make the radio station skeptical that one person is behind it. a few per day is fine, Not everyone has to vote yet. When the song starts picking up, then we could vote more to increase demand. I don't know if the radio stations have the single shipped out to them yet. When they do, I'll let ya'll know and bring the topic back up. Thanks guys!

  16. I'll be puttin up some links to radio websites where u could request online. The more demand for it the better! I'll let ya'll know if they play it. If not, we could complain :)
