BigTed, I'm glad to see someone can quote the classics! Kurtis Blow's Basketball was the first rap song I heard/was into. I used to play Dr. J vs Larry Bird One-On-One listening to that song for hours on end. Ahh, the good old days. :) To be somewhat on topic, Play: Basketball, Golf Watch: Football, american style. I was thinking the same thing, that it's about his ex wife. The lines about lawers bleeding, not supporting him is his ambitions, fooling around with other guys, going crazy over ice.

Was Timbaland involved with Swagga? That sounds a lot like his style.

“Scary Story” – Smith wants to tell his story Eminem-style—it goes awry. "Eminem-style" ? Riiight... I guess Will must have ripped it from him when Em was like 12 years old. If it's any style other then classic JJ/FP, I would say it has a very Slick Rick feel to it. (Children's Story) Of course, I these reviewers probably never even heard of Slick Rick.

I've been a huge JJ/FP fan since the late 80's. Since the beginning I've always tried to read/see all of their interviews and such. Inevitably I'd miss a lot. (they get a lot of press :) A few years ago I came upon this site (largely do to a remark by AJ on the old will smith board) and I've learned that this is THE place to go to find out everything about JJ/FP. The amount of information on this site is incredible, I get to stay current with not just main stream appearances and such, but also the little known stuff as well. Having a forum full of other fans, discussing and answering questions, lets me in on a lot of things I never would have been able to come across otherwise. So thanks Hero for creating this site, it's greatly appreciated!

I agree, the Will's a great story teller, it's great to hear more of it.

This quote seemed odd: "On "I Wish I Made That," he jokes about adopting a more-street persona in order to gain some respect ("Just ig'nant, attackin', actin' rough/I mean, then, will I be black enough?"), knowing full well that he'll always be thought of as, well, Will Smith." That line strikes me as illustrating problems with expectations of rap, not a joke.

"But his songs lack that necessary glint of wild fun or menace." That just makes me sad.

The only things I know about DJing comes from watching Jazzy Jeff (and other's) do there thing in clips. One thing has always confused me about watching Jazzy do his magic. I see him seem to perform scratches, but I can't actually hear any scratch. (I saw this most recently in the last posting where it had a link to a video of him) Why is that? I get the part where he's queueing up records, but he actually seems to scratch at points, but the audio doesn't seem to have any scratches...

Are you hearing any of the usual noises from your computer? (the sound of the fan, etc) Does your computer normally have a light on it when you turn it on? Is the light working? A couple of suggestions (I think you tried most of these), though it's probably none of these, but... Try turning your computer off and back on. Try unplugging it and plugging it back in. Try a different power outlet. If your sure there's electricity going into your computer but you don't get any lights or fans turning on, your power supply might have died.

I've been watching the fpoba dvd and one of the episodes struck me as odd. The one that's about Will's first day of school, and starts with Will telling Ashley and her friends the scary story. It looks like this episode was filmed much earlier in the season and then held till later. This is the episode where Will decides to turn his jacket inside out, but several episodes earlier he was wearing it like that. Also, Uncle Phil has the mustache in the flashback, but by this time in the season he was wearing a beard. What do ya'll think?

The post I put up earlier solved part one, later on I got part two. Did anyone else get it? They're some good articles, the last one was I really liked, had a more personal touch to it.

I saw it with my lady and we both loved it. We saw it Sunday afternoon and the theater was packed, a ton of couples, pretty diverse crowd otherwise. I found myself laughing straight from the start, but the rest of the audiance didn't seem to get into it until part of the way through. Once they caught on though, they responded really well. One of the things that really stood out to me was that there wasn't a lot of classic "Will Smith" lines. The movie really seemed to stand on it's own merits with out throwing in a lot of "watch Will do his thing" moments. During the closing credits, seeing Will dumb dancing again was just too funny.
