1. That thing about Any Given Sunday is funny....if he wouldn't have done the movie, then him and L.L. Cool J would have never gotten in 2 that beef. I never saw that movie...really want 2 tho.' It's funny Puffy didn't get the part...then in Fed Up, Jamie tells the one boy in the movie that he is Puffy...ha ha.

Jamie has his own studio and in a Daily Show interview from a few weeks ago, he said he waz gonna do another album.
2. I used 2 love Eminem in 1999 but i definitly thought D12 waz wack from the start (tho' i still think "My Band" is hilarious). I'm totally open minded what Eminem dose, i just don't really expect 2 like him anymore. If he comes back with some Hip-Hop beats (not over-produced stuff) and witty creative rhymes again, i'll definitly get the album.
3. No, they didn't re-shoot the video for "Nod Ya Head - The Remix"...it's just re-edited and has some different footage. It waz a smart move tho' cuz it didn't cost much extra money and it made different versions available 4 different kinds of radio stations.

Jive really should have done the same with "Summertime '98" 2 promote the Greatest Hits album. Putting that remix 2 the original video (of even editing it a lil' bit) would have been a great idea. It probably would have gotten alot of play 2 cuz what's the eazy way of making another hit?....remixing the original. It would have also propelled the sales of it (rather than them just putting it out with no promotion...i didin't even know it waz coming out...i just walked in the music store and found it and freaked out).

There no hard evidence, but the bottom line is, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air WILL be released on DVD. TV shows on DVD have been coming out for years and right now the concept is very hot...EVERYTHING is getting released. It's already confirmed that they are thinkin' about it. It's just a matter of them doing it. I'm sure it's more likely 2 happen when Will has a new movie out. I'm in no rush 4 them 2 release it only cuz i won't them 2 take time loading it down with bonuses.
4. That whole underground dosen't mean anything...nearly every Hip-Hop and Rap artist waz at 1 point and underground artist. JJ+FP were rockin' crowds around Philly and look where they are. M.C. Hammer waz runnin' the club scene in the Bay, selling thousands of records outta the back of his trunk...he ended up being one of the biggest megastars of all time at one point (mini-movie videos, cartoon, action figures, TOOTHPASTE!!). Kid 'N Play were makin' moves on the underground scene with "Late Nite" and they ended up being having cartoons and movies. 2Pac waz in Strictly Dope, Ma$e used 2 be a hardcore rapper b4 signing with Bad Boy, Jay-Z and members of Wu-Tang were actually in more commerical groups b4 changing their images and beginning successful solo careers.

Oh yeah, and THESE days Eminem is alot like your average rapper. His early days of bighting Nas' style waz akward, when he found himself w/ The Slim Shady EP and LP, he waz ill....since then he's been on a downward spiral.
5. I didn't get 2 check that link yet....but i'm sure Jamie's movie will be very different. Jamie and Will are boys so neither would try 2 do something 2 mess with the other's career. Jamie Foxx is really breakin' out. He's doin' all kinds different movies (big and small), he dropped that stand up DVD a few years ago, and he's even gotten back in2 singing (most of u probably don't remember his 1st album Peep This from like 1993...i never got it but loved 2 songs off it that i heard). Who knows what this guy is gonna do next!!

i'll still always think of him from In Living Color tho.'
6. Yeah, it won't take much 2 please us...just a DVD with all the videos (including "The Things That U Do") would be great. They can just throw on the behide-the-scenes stuff from the "Summertime" video on at the end. I'm not picky, just the videos are fine with me.

TLC waz going 2 release a DVD 2 go with their greatest hits album (which waz released overseas where the album DID come out) and it contained 10 music videos and a 15 minute mix of interviews thru' out their career at the end. Sure, it waz missing their 3 most-rare music videos and of course we wanted more than that, but just 2 have those videos complied on DVD made us "happy enuff." I waz lucky enuff 2 get one of the few copies made 2 play in US/Canada DVD players.

In these days, u can't expect many surprises from record companies (if u can expect anything at all)...so just the basic stuff is better than nothing at all. Let's hope that Will's next album is HUGE and Jive desides 2 release JJ+FP Greatest Hits on DVD.

p.s. What if there waz a Before The Willennium DVD!!! HA HA!!!!
7.
don't think im racial but what is up with all these walt disney blond haired white kids, like aaron carter, stevie brock etc thinking they are rappers? has rap really sunk that low?
I don't think anybody (including those people themselves) then they are really rappers. Back in the early 90's and even mid-90's...alot of R-N-B artists would even rap on their own trax (Bobby Brown, Tevin Campbell, Batman of Immature, Mary J. Blige, Monica, etc).

I personally don't mind if a rapper sings on a track. Queen Latifah had done it her own carreer. Will's "Willow Is A Playa" is really funny. Biz Markie sings in his own weird way...ha ha. However, Ja-Rule definitly needs 2 stop singing on the trax...dose he not know that he can barely rap?!? He should ever think about singing again.
8. Thanx 4 posting that....i just love Heavy D and i think it's time he drop that album soon. Legends like him need 2 plan a chart wipe-out in Hip-Hop 2 see if they can save it. Heavy can drop his, a month later, Queen Latifah can put her's out, a month later FP can drop his, and a month later L.L. can drop his album he's doin' with Timbaland.

The deal he got sounds really good. If he's getting ALL the profits, it's also probably cuz he had total creative control. I'm happy 2 hear he's taking care of himself 2.

1st FP has Heavy do a cameo on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air...now he's got a cameo in his new movie...ha ha.
9. Those guys should be pimp smacked just 4 thinkin' about making a sequel. It's not that hard 2 come up with another script....it would just be 2 far-fetched and totally unnecessary which would end up tarnishing the legacy of the original movie.
10. Will's voice has been the same for years. The biggest change waz between And In This Corner... and Homebase. Since then his voice has been the same...but his flow has changed a lil' bit 4 each album. Homebase introduced his deeper voice with a crisp kinda flow. Code Red waz similar, but some of the trax had a grittier, rougher kinda flow. BWS waz just a very straight forward kinda flow. Willennium waz similar 2 BWS...he just sounded more comfortable on the trax...that's what millions of albums sold will do. Born To Reign waz Will just adjusting 2 the new sound 4 that album.
11. New Edition has had crazy business problems. BBD wanted out of their label deal..which is why they didn't release an album from between 1993 until 2001 when they finally got off MCA (cuz labels will dump u if u don't relase anything). MCA put out the BBD "Greatest Hits" album 2 help fulfill their contracts...next thing u know they put a new album on Biv Ten (which waz dope, but over-looked). Bobby Brown has released a studio album since 1997 (his Greatest Hits album waz put 2gether by his label...like BBDs). Johnny Gill hasn't released an album in 4ever either (other than 2 Greatest Hits albums). Ralph Tresvant hasn't released anything in 10 years!! As a group, the label kept releasing greatest hits albums (even tho' NE's GH album waz released in 1990ish). They released "NE: Solo Hits", NE "Lost In Love - a collection of their group and solo ballads, and Number Ones - featuring group and solo number one singles.

In 2002, they planned a new album and documentary but it never happened. Label problems i assume. It's a shame 2 cuz their 1996 album "Home Again" is a classic...one of my favorite albums of all time. They signed 2 Bad Boy in 2002ish and did a special on BET (without Bobby Brown). Either way, we know the album is on the way.

2 months ago they released another greatest hits album called NE: The Hits. I ordered it and should have gotten it by now. I'm sure it'll be kinda weird tho' cuz it has the early kiddie stuff like "Cool It Now" on it AND the new stuff like "Hit Me Off." The pic on the front waz from the 1996ish era where they are all grown up and on the back it says 2 rewind back the 1st track 2 a "special message" from Biv and NE. That's gonna be the only new thing on it so i'm hyped 2 see what it is.

BACK 2 HEAVY D THO'....
His last album "Heavy" waz really good but slept on. "On Point" waz a dope song but the album had better trax on it then that. It came out the same day as the Wild Wild West soundtrack (so i ended up spending more than i planned that day). Heavy D has stayed busy tho'...he produced "Breezy" on BBD's last album AND "Got Luv 4 Ya" on Timbaland + Magoo's last album (both really good trax). He also had a small part in the Martin Lawrence / Eddie Murphy movie LIFE. I can't wait 4 this new album. It may be kinda weird that he's on Bad Boy, but i also look at it like this...he's a dope, creative, positive Hip-Hop artist...and he's on a label that is well known and can promote him well.
12. Yeah, Nick-At-Nite has really changed their line up. I remember watching it when i waz young and nearly eveything on it waz in black and white...the last episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air isn't even 10 years old...ha ha. That's cool tho'...the more accessable it is 2 people, the better.
13. "Freakin' It" waz done AFTER The Will Smith Video Collection waz put 2gether. I waz hoping that with the release of the boring Will Smith "Greatest Hits" CD, they'd put another DVD out w/ Freakin' It, both versions of Black Suits Comin', and 1,000 Kisses. Of course that waz yet another Columbia Records let down.

Jive Records really should put out a DVD for JJ+FP "Greatest Hits" but that probably won't happen until Will has a huge album on his hands again.
14. Very cool!!

When i saw JJ+FP at that MTV special during the summer of 2002, my friend actually talked 2 Jeff at the after party and he said after the party cooled out, he waz gonna hang out 4 a minute with us and sign something 4 me. However, the other person with us HAD 2 go home as soon as we could get them there. On the drive home, my friend told me this. I wigged out and would have turned the SUV around if we hadn't been driving 4 so long.
15. Yeah!! I know he waz working on a new album but havn't heard anything about it in 4ever. It dosen't really bug me that he's on Bad Boy b-cuz Puffy waz behind alot of the Uptown music...which Heavy waz a part of (later becoming the head of Uptown). Heavy D is an established artist, he's been in the game for nearly 20 years so i don't think Bad Boy really has the power 2 mess with his image that much (the same reason i'm not 2 upset that New Edition is signed with Bad Boy). I can't wait 4 the new album, i have faith that Heavy stands by music and that it can't get any worse than Big Willie Style waz for FP.

Bring it on...Hip-Hop needs Heavy D!! If anybody wants 2 get caught up on Heavy D, check his Greatest Hits album Heavy Hitz (the 'millenium' version of dosen't do his career justice).
16. I agree with the 2 of u. When i started writing rhymes (around 11), my stuff waz very JJ+FP / M.C. Hammer....so i waz obviously influenced by my fav artists at the time. The difference, my favorite people were creative, they had heart...these new guys suck and kids are growing up thinking this stuff is good and that it's the standard.

And what TopDawg said about The Chonic...that's looks like the case 2 me. When that album came out, everybody copied it's style...not even the Hip-Hop style...they copied what made 'gangsta rap' dominate commerical Hip-Hop/Rap. There waz lots of good Hip-Hop and Rap that came out after The Chronic, it's just that alot of wack fake gangsta rap started coming out...HOW MANY OF THOSE ARTISTS ACTUALLY LASTED?!?).

The sad thing is that most of the stuff that i and some of us are dissing about commercial rap stems from the old skool. FP, LL, Run-DMC, Heavy + The Boyz all would occasioually mention name brands in their music...but when they did it, it waz like "this is my style"...these days, it's over-done and it's cuz they are saying "i have lots of money and can by these cloths that everybody else is wearing. L.L. Cool J caught lots of heat when he did that Walking With The Panther (1989) album cover with the jewelry, girls, money, and alchol. However, that's exactly what people are doing these days and getting praised 4 it. Back then, L.L. waz flossin'...these days it's just ignorant fools with ego problems who need 2 make themselves feel better.
17. Most of the stuff i like by Ludacris is when he's the guest artist (Timbaland's "Fat Rabbit"...Missy's "Minute Man"...Jagged Edge...Usher) but i can't stand his solo work. Sometimes he has some funny or clever lyrics but all of that gets swallowed up by the rest of them.

His performance wazn't bad but it waz boring. Kinda like i mentioned in my other posts about rappers' performances these days...just walking around back and forth on stage while yelling in2 a mic w/ a small posse over adlibbing in2 their mics. He probably saw JJ+FP performance that nite (that security waz so kind as 2 NOT let me back in 2 see) and he probably thought "ohhhh...that's how u are supposed 2 do that."
