I used 2 like Nas when he 1st came out....i like maybe half of his 2nd album..but since then i've only liked select singles. I just think he turned his back on the style that got him where he is 2day. Most of his fans these days don't know much about Illmatic which is his best album....period. Since it waz just re-released and remastered w/ a bonus disc, many fans are finding out about real Hip-Hop just now which is good i guess. I don't think he's wack or anything, i just think he's making alot of music that isn't comparable and as meaningful as he can be.

I would never say "anything" by any artist cuz even tho' there are some artists i don't like at all...they occasionaly drop a single that i like. For instance, i like Nelly's "Dillemma" feat. Kelly Rowland, Jay-Z's Ain't No N!**@, Sunshine, The City Is Mine, Girls...", Chingy's new single w/ that R-N-B hook, Eminem's Slim Shady LP and a few later-released trax, and so on. I'm not saying i'm in love with those songs or the artist, but as songs, i kinda like some of them. I try 2 not 2 limit myself by i won't allow myself 2 like something by anybody...it just happens that some of them are wack, but get lucky or get some divine insperation 4 a good song. Sometimes i'll even dislike a song when it's new...but like it later. I used 2 dislike Coolio when he came out. However, his 2nd single waz dope (I Remember)...but when "Gangsta's Paradice" came out, i fell in love with half of his music (b4 it blew up) and started liking him. I no longer thought "Fantastic Voyage" waz a stupid song. These days, when i hear older music like the Bad Boy stuff of the late 90's that i used 2 diss, i actually kinda like some of it now. I don't know if it's cuz i now like certain songs cuz their is no hype behind them now or if i like some of them just cuz they take me back 2 when they were new. I'm not gonna turn around and say Black Rob's "Whoa" song is the illest of all time anytime soon, but i never thought i'd like this track like i do now. It's funny the way my mind will sometimes change i about music. Either way, my favorite artists and their music never changes in my opinion....just the stuff i disliked or didn't care 2 check out during it's time out.

This post isn't meant 2 start fights. If it dose, then the mod can lock it or delete it whenever they want. However, i wanna see what kinda lists we come up with. When i mean, wack, i mean awful from all ends. Some somes suck when it comes 2 the production, some suck when it comes 2 lyrics and subject matter (if any) and some suck cuz the artist has no talent. However, i asking 4 the kinda list where everything about the song is wack. 1. Harlem World "?...their 1st (and maybe only single) Mase's Harlem World waz like an All-Star group 4 the wackest artists ever. I just remember this song and thinking that it waz invented simply 2 suck and bring rap music back 3,000 years. 2. Nelly "Hot In Herr" ugh, Neptunes gave him an empty, wack beat. Since we are talking about Nelly here, of course the lyrics suck and the over-done dirty south talk is mad annoying. However, i think the most annoying thing in this song is what he dose in half of his songs...he raps like he's just been beat down and sounds like he's crying. 3. Junior M.A.F.I.A. "?...their 1st single" Ugh...trash rap. "Ladies, rub ya ******* if u love Hip-Hop"...man, that beat drove me 2 drink and like Harlem World, they were a group of artists that defintly couldn't hold it down as solo artists (yes, including Lil' Kim) and they actually couldn't even hold it down as a group. Man, they sucked. 4. Lil' Flip "Game Over" Man, what bet did Columbia lose that made them sign this guy. What makes this wack fool stand out from all of the other garbage rappers that have come out in recent years. The production drives me insane. And the weakly changed "flip...flip...flip" in the background sounds like they are drugged 2 sound awful. I guess it just shows how un-enthusiastic they are 2 hear this guy rap (if u wanna call it that). 5. G-Unit "Stunt 101" This is the kinda pointless song that comes 2gether when u put 1 C-level rapper in a group 2 hypemen who got their hands on a microphone. Dosen't it bug them that their song talks about nothing?!?

When i say SEXY, i'm talking about the aritst, their style, and the way the video was shot. i DON'T mean sluty, half-naked-4-no-reason type of videos....especially the typical rap videos where they just have a bunch of half-naked hoes dancing. 1. We've been talking about Hip-Hop music and culture 4 awhile and i just wanted 2 express where i'm comin' so people know why i view things certain ways. I grew up on what waz on the radio...i just remember Michael Jackson being the only artist i really knew by name. Being around music at a really young age, i looked at it the way we all should look at it. Simply as music. It dosen't need 2 be labled as Hip-Hop, Rock, Jazz, R-N-B, Reggae, Club, Classical, etc...it's all music. Anyways, in the mid-80's, i waz exposed 2 Run-DMC, JJ+FP, and L.L. Cool J. While i considered it simply music...just as i would MJ, Madonna, George Michael, and so on...soemething about Hip-Hop just stood out. It just seemed as this fresh new thing that waz mine. There wazn't much of it existing and going on b4 i got in2 it. By the late 80's...Hip-Hop waz pretty much all i listened 2. My cousin waz a few years older than me and he had all the M.C. Hammer, Tone Loc, JJ+FP, Digital Underground, DJ EZ-Rock + Rob Base, Heavy D + The Boyz stuff that i consider the golden age of music. I also had other older friends who had this stuff and i just lived off of their copies. It just seemed 2 me that there waz always something new, current, and amazing about Hip-Hop. The end the 80's and early 90's is when i started actually buying alot of cassettes. Me and my friends would listen 2 this stuff in the basement, garage, front porch..whereever. While all the artists i listed above were what we listened 2 mostly...we also got in2 the less mainstream stuff (at least 4 people our age) like EPMD, AMG, Eric B. + Rakim. We also heard the Pubic Enemy and N.W.A. stuff that we had 2 hide from our parents. We used 2 rap and beatbox our favorite stuff and record it like we were trying 2 get record deals. I still have this tapes and videos of us doing this stuff. It waz the mid-90's where things got yucky. Dr. Dre's "The Chronic" waz blowin' up. It's a dope album, but people only saw it for the "gangsta rap" quality of it which planted the seeds for tons of untalented people 2 get record deals where they could talk about a lifestyle they never lived. I kept my feet deep in the waters of true skool Hip-Hop but alot of my friends started listening 2 more of the "other" stuff. Don't get me wrong, there's always a time and a place 2 nod ya head to "Dre Day" and "What's My Name?"...but i waz getting upset about how many old skool cats weren't doing their thing (and breaking up) at this time. I got in 2 Dre, Snoop, Onyx, Da Lynch Mob, Ice Cube, and so on...but those people were real. I remembered catching myself rockin' flannel shirts, saggin' jeans and Nike's thinkin' 2 myself "it's either go with the flow or just do me"...so i got rid of that "thugged out" look of the mid-90's and got back in my bright and baggy stuff. The sound of Hip-Hop right now waz thicker (which waz good) but it waz also darker (not always good). I waz annoyed that nearly every rap album coming out had an explict lyrics sticker. My parents didn't like finding those and i myself didn't like alot of cussing in the 1st place. I remember my one friend rating and raving about Biggie and i waz just like "what's the big deal about this guy"...he and most other new rappers at the time just didn't impress me. This is when i really got in2 R-N-B. I always loved R-N-B, but i waz relying on it now cuz Hip-Hop just wazn't doing it 4 me anymore in a big way. Noteable new artists who kept me happy for awhile were Ahmad and Skee-Lo. At this point, Heavy D + The Boyz, JJ+FP, and Kid 'N Play were simply done. M.C. Hammer released a dope album called V Inside Out which i listened 2 non-stop...but i saw nobody supporting it. I just had a feeling that my favorite style of music waz never gonna be the same. I used 2 say "rap sucks" all the time and my friends are just like "u just don't like it anymore" and i'm like "this is my favorite kinda music...but it sucks right now." Reguardless, me and my boys would still get 2gether and watch Yo! MTV Raps late in2 the nite on weekends. The really akward era leading 2 the late 90's waz again mixed with good and bad. I remember watching Yo! MTV Raps and flipping the channels alot. De La Soul, Nas, Craig Mack, Digital Underground, Das EFX, The Fugees, Busta Rhymes, and A Tribe Called Quest were the only artists i waz really checkin' 4. The murders of 2pac and Biggie waz were things changed. It waz kinda like they died 2 save Hip-Hop 4 the moment which waz awful. People realized how far the fake lifestyles and trashtalking 2 could and how it would bleed in2 real life. Those murders changed alot for the industry, the artists, and the fans. I just remember who dark and confusing that time waz. However, that opened the door 4 a 2nd wind for a tired music. With people sick of the negativity, it seemed like clock work that the old skool waz coming back AND the mainstream artists of the time were actually commerical artists rather than successful gritty Hip-Hop artists. Of course this introduced us 2 BAD commercial artists. In the late-80's and early-90's, the commercial artists who got mainstream love were good artists who deserved success. This late-90's era introduced success 2 not-so-talented artists. This is where Puffy, Mase, Master P, etc were getting lots of airplay and success. But that's all 2 the goodie cuz the old skool and true-skool of Hip-Hop kept things going thru' the end of the 90's...Fresh Prince, L.L. Cool J, MC Lyte, Salt-N-Pepa, EPMD, A Tribe Called Quest, Slick Rick, Young MC, Heavy D, Naughty By Nature, and Queen Latifah all dropped new albums in a matter of years. Now we are in the 2000's and i'm so disappointed with the music again. It's worse than the mid/late 90's. Fresh Prince MC Lyte, and L.L. Cool J are still doing their thing and Queen Latifah + Heavy D are all on their way with new albums. But the only artists out currently that can keep my attention right now are Black Eyed Peas, OutKast, Twista, + Kanye West. Otherwise, i simply don't like Rap. Nelly, 50 Cent, Ludacris, Chingy Lil' Flip and most of Eminem's and Jay-Z's stuff is just trash 2 me. I don't understand how people can like this stuff the way they do. The lack of good Hip-Hop and Rap has totally driven me in2 the arms of other music. My R-N-B collection is almost twice the size of my Hip-Hop collection. My Reggae collection is also growing faster than it has in the past 10 years. I'm not the kinda person 2 limit myself 2 one thing...so i'll like anything that i think is good and i've totally started digging old Motown stuff and a few Top 40 rock acts like Evanescence. I just hope that something happens 2 save Hip-Hop music. It sucks 2 have only 3 or 4 CDs come out each year from your favorite kinda music. Fans are neglected, young kids are listening 2 poison...it's time for real emcees 2 take a stand and take their music back from these wack, immature, phoney, greedy fools on the charts now. Let us remember what a real emcee is about...writing dope lyrics, being original, having heart, knowing how 2 perform, and actually knowing how 2 ride the beat.

I don't have a preference myself. There's a different vybe for different moods. Sometimes i like gettin' all jigged up and going out 2 busy late-nite restaurant or a bar and just going crazy, people watching, etc. There are other times when i wanna take 2 the park, or a playground, a rooftop, etc where u can just kick it.

I like A+...i think he's dope. His 1st hit waz 1996's "All I See" which waz a dope track. It came out in the summertime and i just remember it being surrounded by De La Soul, Fugee, Nas, + Digital Underground videos on Yo! MTV Raps. His 1st album is pretty good. Kiddie emcee's are always kinda akward, cuz half of them suck..and the other half are good, but since they are young, it's hard 2 take them seriously. I think that's why i waz wit Another Bad Creation, Kris Kross, Da Youngstas, and A+...cuz they were young, but so waz i. These days i can't get with younger emcee's at all...tho' the newer Bow Wow stuff isn't 2 bad. A+ dropped that "Enjoy Yourself" track in summer 1998. The album didn't do much tho'. The video got some play but i don't remember much radio air-play. His 2nd album waz good but it didn't keep my attention the way the 1st one did.

I think Hip-Hop/Rap has hit rock bottom....we are either gonna stay in this awful place or things are gonna get better...cuz i don't think it can get any worse. And i also agree with that statement about how neglected Hip-Hop fans have been that we think the okay stuff is great....like my opinion on the Mase track...ha ha.

Yeah, 2 me, it's a breath of fresh air. Mase is far from the best rapper...but in these days, it dosn't take much 2 look better than the rapper next 2 u. Just 2 hear a happy beat, clean lyrics, and song that dosen't sound like a 10 year old ghostwrote it makes me feel good. I'll never call this one of the dopest songs of year, but there's alot of crap out right now and i think i'll be supporting Mase this time around rather than dissing him 2 no end.

The only things Eminem said 2 mock Will waz that line in the "Real Slim Shady" which isnt' actually a diss. Look at the lyric above...people are simply 2 stupid 2 understand this. He isn't praising Will at all, but the line simply isn't a diss. He only acknowleges Will's speech at the MTV Movie Awards a few years back and mocks Will cuz of his own insecurities and becuz at that time he waz building his entire career off dissing people in general. In the "Forgot About Dre" video...there is a break in the song where he talks 2 a reporter and starts off by saying "i was upstairs listening to my Will Smith CD..." Again, not exactly a real diss, just mocking Will for being large. The real "battle" in this waz made up by Eminem fans. Most of them being 9 year old white kids who have mega-rich parents took those 2 incidents and blew them up in their own minds as real disses. I myself highly doubt Will waz loosing sleep after hearing them. Eminem didn't say anything else and hasn't said anything since. If he had a real problem with Will, he would keep runnin' his mouth about him...but incase u havn't notice, it's been almost 5 years since all that. If he really dissed Will, i have a feeling Will would have responded. He's the kinda person 2 stay on the high ground cuz he is in a position where he's an easy target and his so-called "compitition" usually never stays in the limelight 2 long anyway. However, if he waz really attacked, i'm sure he would head 2 the lab and rip Em until he waz crying mercy on the inside....which might be what he needs. The day any rapper takes Eminem serious will be the day Will agrees 2 do Independence Day 2.

The funny thing is, in certain interviews, Will has said things like "i've always considered myself a rapper 1st and everything else comes second" and when asked about which part of entertainment is his favorite he talks about music being the most personal, up-to-date, and so on. Music is totally in this man's heart but he's very wrapped up in acting. Music is a hobby tho'...acting is a job. Acting pays the bills. Will makes music 4 fun and puts it out 4 the fans. I can relate in my un-famous way that i've always loved writing and rapping but in recent years, i don't write 2 often or perform 2 often...but i've done tons of local acting. I get a lil' money from doing the acting and alot of people in my community recognize me and of course none of them know about my love 4 Hip-Hop. It's easy 2 get wrapped up in other things which can make your 1st love suffer.

No offense, but i'd really like 2 know where u come from and how old u are. Your exposure 2 Rap, your opinions, and your ways of conveying your ideas just seem like u are some young kid from from some place that only gets 2 hear top 10 Rap...which sucks 90% of the time. I'm not trying 2 be ignorant, i just think it may clear up why i can't agree with one thing u say.

He isn't....i've never seen a video on TV or heard a song on the radio. It's nothing but a big public embarrasment thing and so that a few people can make some money off this joke.

I only read the 1st half of that...but i totally agree. It's hard 2 have a conversation with younger fans of Hip-Hop cuz they don't know what it is...they simply don't know any better. They are totally ignorant about what real Hip-Hop is about and they don't know what good music should sound like cuz they are rarely exposed 2 it. 2 me, it just looks like a hopeless cause unless the real artists step up and make things happen themselves. Young MC, Coolio, etc are still releasing music, but they aren't signing with labels that will promote them correctly and they are settling for average production which ultimatly don't get them anywhere. Fresh Prince, L.L. Cool J, and Queen Latifah stay busy with so many other projects like movies, their own businesses, other artists, etc, which isn't a bad thing but it keeps them from focusing totally on the music. I personally don't blame them tho' cuz the money simply isn't in just rapping. U can only stay in one place for so long so i think it's a natural progression 2 do other things. But the music suffers when good artists like that wait 4 or 5 years between albums. The people who do get played on the radio simply don't care about their music, their fans or about the culture that some people associate them with. They preach poison, they don't bother 2 even try and be creative, they simply want fame and money. They'll find out a few years tho' when their fame dies, they have STDs from nasty groupies, and they realized they sold out all their real friends 4 business that played them why they played all the people in their lives.

I heard that it'll just be a score (orchestral music 2 the movie) but i've also heard that it would be a mainstream soundtrack. We do know that we'll hear something new in the fall when SharkTale comes out cuz Will put alot of work in2 that.

I used 2 know this but i totally 4get. Homebase did about 2-3 million and i think He's The DJ, I'm The Rapper did about the same. Since their release, all of them have gone platnium. Not sure about the Greatest Hits album tho.' Before The Willennium has probably done about 15 million by now. :roll:

I feel u. Petey Pablo has about zero talent and his music annoyes me 2 no end. I think Will would have much better chemistry with Twista or Kanye West. Neither of them are fake thugs and neither of them base their career or disrespecting people, cussing, and flossing a negative lifestyle. It sounds like Will is pretty finished with this upcoming album but dosen't mean he won't change it if the oppertunity pops up.

That is fly...i love it. The only other place i've seen that pic of Will is on the cover of a Nickeloden magazine from the BWS era.

The SharkTale soundtrack is what we are really waiting for. I never heard a legit source saying I, Robot featured work by Will.

U can find that track on that Japan Import Version of JJ+FP's "Greatest Hits." It's pretty rare and really expensive. I made an offer 2 some people 2 get a JJ+FP mix CD which featured this song but that time has come and gone. Pretty much nobody took up on the offer, but those who did are more than happy with the CD. Maybe later i'll put that offer back up.
