  1. I don't like the word. It soils the song, as far as I'm concerned. There are only a few instances where I favor its use in a song. Like Lupe's "Dumb it Down." The ignorant guy at the end uses the word frequently, while the intelligent Lupe doesn't use it at all. I just wish all of his songs left the word out. The reason FJ gets special attention when he uses it is because it's more obvious coming from him since he's not black. I don't like it from anyone, black, white, red, yellow, etc. If I'm rapping along, I wanna be able to rap the full song without stuttering over an oppressive word. A word cannot truly create empowerment if such a small fraction of the community has exclusive use of it. And hell, a lot of people like yourself refuse to use the word anyway. That should say something. I'm not for censorship. I'm for creating a more conscious world.
  2. You're going all out to defend this dude. I'm hearing a lot of arguments to defend this dude. But I'm interested in what you've got to say about his praise for cocaine? It's probably one of the worst things to happen in poor communities, yet Joe acts like God created it so that drug dealers could thrive. As far as consistency goes. I'd definitely say Tupac was much more consistent than FJ. 2Pac wasn't always nice, but his songs didn't suffer because of that.
  3. Man, this thread is 20 pages long. TWENTY. I got Kel all kinds of exposure and he left me off of the end of Locked Out... I SEE HOW IT IS KEL...
  4. My thoughts on Fat Joe have been mixed, but have pretty much negative. He may have talent but he pretty much squanders it like so many other rappers. There's a lot of things that bug me about him. His praise of cocaine like it's God's gift to the hood. His flagrant use of the n word (I know a lot of rappers are guilty, but he seems to drop a ton of these in his songs). And his association with other wack rappers like Lil' Wayne and such. I hate seeing people like T.I. do this too. And his content has really fallen off, IMO. I'll probably never be a big fan because of stuff like this. Association breeds similarity. It also creates healthy competition. Unfortunately, he's not challenged the same way he used to be.
  5. I'm glad somebody said something about fake-ass Rick Ross. Everything about that man is a lie. I tell this to people every time they ask me if I'm a fan.
  6. I like the idea of an album with no features. I hate the idea of anyone with talent signing to Cash Money.
  7. Nice job, Tim. I've always wondered about the other sites you create.
  8. That's pretty much how I feel. I like consistency with people. Nice plan though. Hope it works out.
  9. Thanks a lot Brakes! I've done lots of different roles (lawyers, killers/assassins, lovers, etc.) but most of it has been in the classroom. I'm submitting myself for auditions, but competition is fierce in LA. I'm gonna keep at it though. On the sound, I agree. Sound has been one of the hardest things to nail with all this editing. The final product in this case actually has a lot of work put into the sound and balancing it throughout the video. The main problem in this videos case is that some of Samuel's lines were recorded in a different location due to me missing them in the recording process. I just decided to roll with the punches. Thanks again, Tim! And yes, I got the PM. I'm in the middle of writing a response right now actually.
  10. Well now I don't know that we are on the same page. The whole point of the video isn't to make fun of myself. In fact, any jokes at my expense are minimal and not that harsh, I think. I wrote this video. There's a script, cues, etc. I think that the reason you're seeing Chris Langner is because I'm not attempting to really play another person. I will take elements of other people and include them though (like the "ironic" joke). At the same time, yes, I am acting and it was a goal from the start to make this video less like a spokesperson video and more like a journalistic documentary. And although I am playing "Chris" it's still a eccentric characterized version of myself. It's supposed to be funny and I hope you liked it. It's really my favorite video so far. I am trying to be an actor, but I like experimenting with these youtube videos. Thanks for the feedback. I hope that I can get some other characters on film to show soon.
  11. Rawad: Thanks for checking it out! Glad you liked it. DefCEM: FUQ had trouble with whether or not I was being serious at times too. Yeah, I'm making fun of myself, but comedy is something I really enjoy doing. I think people already kind of "get" the idea that I like acting by watching the video. I don't think making fun of myself diminishes that. I am trying to do serious stuff as well. I've got monologues memorized and I practice them often. I take acting classes twice a week. I'd love to work with more people, like you said. Moving back home has really messed with that. I put out open invitations on facebook when I make videos. Little-to-no bites though! If you wanna see me in a semi-serious role (with other people!) you can check this out. Unfortunately, that's about all I got at the moment! Thanks for watching!
  12. Thanks a lot guys! I'm glad you guys liked it. Keep at it, Tim. The only thing holding me back from filming my parts has been: -That third ep. AND -Needing a white room. But I may be able to use the same room I did for this video.
  13. I just finished it. I've been working on it pretty much nonstop over the past few days. I'm pretty pleased with the results. I'd love to get some feedback.
  14. Weird that it's not on google.com. Pretty awesome animation though.
  15. Yeah, good flow for your first "attempt." I'm not sure what you were saying since I don't speak German, but I like to think it was about little ducks in a line, following their mother duck. Nice job.
  16. Ahh yes, the Christmas board. Good ol' days we had here. Hell, I remember the ORIGINAL willsmith.com board and getting emails from AJ. What a mess that place was.
  17. Dope performance! I noticed you said you were British though? I thought you were from Detroit...
  18. Welcome back Pak. That's pretty dope that you landed a TV series. I'm trying to make the acting thing work right now too.
