Am I the only one who's a bit worried by the review embargo?? They don't do that when they have confidence in a movie cuz if the movie's good they want the word out as soon as possible ...

A big, huge, massive resounding MEH from me on this project. After Concussion and Suicide Squad this just seems like a bit of a step down. I can already see the pitch meeting ... "It's basically THE FUGITIVE ... but with a twist!!!" ;)

Having said that, ever since I saw WARRIOR I instantly became a massive fan of Edgerton so it would be cool to see him in it as well. Anyway, whichever one they choose. They can't go wrong with either of them.

I mean I'm actually not that bothered that he's out. Hardy is a great actor on a great streak so I'm sure there are plenty of goog ideas out there for him ... but if Will dopeed out I'd be upset cus it's one of the few promising things his career is looking at right now :) Plus Jake Gyllenhall is awesome...

I swear to God Ale ... what the hell?? :D Do you have some alert set up somewhere that goes off whenever Will's name is dropped online? :) I mean for tha past couple of months whenever some news broke about him I came here immediately ... to see you already posted about it ... damn ... nice reflexes brother ;) As for the trailer the only thing that worries me is the chemistry between Will and Margot which seems to be lacking a bit and I don't mean to sound like an old fart but the age difference is kinda bothering me...she is 6 years younger than me and 22 years younger than him ... just seems off. Other than that I'm really looking forward to it. Like you said elsewhere Ale, with this, CONCUSSION and SUICIDE SQUAD I think we might be finally seeing a different side to Will as an actor.

That interview with the two of them must be the dumbest thing I have ever read!! Seriously, how f**king dumb to you have to be to say stuff like that and actually be serious about it ... "School isn't real because it ends." So everything that ends is not real? WTF? Everything ends you useless plantpot ... you'll end ... are you not real? Sorry, but it continues to impress and annoy me how entitled rich kids can get and lose all touch with reality. No wonder Will is making less and less movies these days if he has to deal with this s**t every day :)

Dammit Ale, do not give me false hope with this "closed to signing" stuff ... I mustn't give into my geekboy fantasies ... the pain of Edgar Wright leaving ANT-MAN is still too strong for me to let my guard down :) F**k me, it would be amazing if Will and Tom appeared in this together :)

Oh yeah, definitely CONCUSSION seems like a step in the right direction. And I also think that him shying away from projects with other big names hasn't stopped me from loving the movies he did. I too find I AM LEGEND and PURSUIT to be fantastic movies with great, nuanced performances from Smith. I just remember a time when he was 30 and it looked as though we have found the next great actor that will leave a legendary career behind him. Now I'm not so sure and it's because of the choices he makes.

There have been so many great projects that he was at one point supposed to do like EMPIRE with Michael Mann, THE AMERICAN CAN with Ed Zwick and now I hear that the rumoured assasin movie THE ACCOUNTANT was offered to Ben Affleck. Great projects that would surely revive his (let's be honest) worsening career. Now if this goes through it would be fun to see him tackle sth like that but I fear it wall all die down soon like all those other projects. Have you also noticed that usually whenever Will does a movie he is the only BIG name in it. Look at I, ROBOT, I AM LEGEND, FOCUS, AFTER EARTH, PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS, SEVEN POUNDS - it's almost as if he doesn't want to star opposite other big stars. Now he would be acting opposite Tom Hardy and Ryan Gosling - slim chances of that happening. Still, cool bit of info to talk about, right guys? :)

I have to say I dig it. It looks good, the performances seem spot on and while there doesn't seem to be much humor in the trailer I do see a potential for quite a few funny scenarios. Definitely looks stylish ;)

I'm thinking they will release it towards the end of next year during the Oscar season. I'm actually excited about this project. I'm just worried about the director. The reviews for his previous movie (Parkland) clearly stated that it was the writing/directing aspect that failed that movie the most.

First of all I apologize to anyone who saw that a new reply was posted to this thread and came here hoping for some news. I don't have any. (I hate it when that happens) I am however wondering a bit. It's 4.5 months before opening day.and we still haven't seen anything .... and I mean ANYTHING. Official synopsis, a few stills, a teaser, a poster, website ,,, this is getting ricidulous. Since the movie has a rating in place then somebody must have seen it. I'm worried that the lack of any kind of marketing campaign for this one is a result of the movie simply being bad. They saw it, they hated it and now they don't want to invest too much money into it anymore so they'll just let the movie appear and disappear without making much of a fuss. Anyone else think that?

I watched the movie and I have to say Will's cameo was a bit ... weird. I mean it was so clearly shot separately form the rest of the group that it kinda stood out. Will was in three shots in which he would say something but none of the other actors ever said a word to him which didn't happen with the other cameos. Plus I was kinda looking forward to seeing the two Wills share the screen at least for a while. Other than that I have to say the movie was a disappointment. It had some funny bits but it wasn't nearly as funny as the original and definitely not as quotable.

Ha...whenever I see that Radewart is posting something I know it will be valuable info :) Cheers for that brother. It looks interesting enough. Definitely better than the nightmarish sounding CITY THAT SAILED. I guess it all depends on the script. Any chance you got any scoop on that Rad? ;)

I would love too see that one ... or American Can ... or Selling Time ... or Brilliance ... or Bad Boys 3 ... or one of the hundred other movies Will's been attached to that don't involve his son. I guess what lends credence to this project is Will's cameo in Anchorman 2. It was probably an indication of McKay and Will willing to work together.

Just came back from watching it. To quote Chandler from "Friends" - Guys, before you watch it...don't watch it. Seriously, I was forcing myself to stay awake. It was a kind of a fairy tale but one that just didn't speak to me. The cheese factor was way too much to bear. My girl liked it though so maybe I'm just being picky. I will say however that Will's cameo was pretty great. His brief speech about "now" was quite intense. Could've done without the CGI at one point during his speech but all in all it was a good part. So good in fact that I was a bit mad that it got wasted on such a boring film. -
HOLY S**T!! I couldn't help myself so I typed it in...amazing :) I'm not gonna spoil it as well but it sounds like a riot :) Also, judging from the trailers it actually might be the only noteworthy scene in this thing cuz the rest looks a bit too cheesy and overly sentimental for my taste ....

Read that too. Doesn't sound bad except for a couple of things: a) Tom Cruise is doing a movie where he's reliving the day on which he dies. Remember the last time Will and Tom did a similarly themed movie? Like Oblivion and After Earth?? Not a good sign. b) I was really looking forward to seeing him in American Can .... great inspirational story, a talented filmmaker - it could have been sth special ... not to mention the third movie which was about a hitman ... As always with Smith's projects we can't know anything for sure until they actually start shooting ... hope it works out and we can put After Earth behind us as soon as possible..
