  1. Dammit Gosia, you beat me to it :) I was going to post it here :) As for the movie - it looks like it moght be fun ... depends whether they will go with a more serious tone like Mamet's HEIST or a lightweight rom-com like Tower Heist...I hope for the former...
  2. Wow ... this actually makes me more excited than any of the projects he's been linked with recently, including "After Earth" :)
  3. I didn't understand a word...could someone translate please? :)
  4. New poster: http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/new-after-earth-poster-with-will-and-jaden-smith-is-better-than-the-first-one I agree it's a lot better and it's good to see Will get the top billing for once ... seriously, I have never been less excited about a Will Smith movie...even MIB3 I was really looking forward to even though I thought that choosing it as a comeback vehicle for Smith was a poor choice. This movie just seems ... I don't know ... dull. I'm much more excited to see OBLIVION and ELYSIUM than this. It looks like a family flick and I wouldn't be surprised if they went with a PG rating. Will needs a serious, BIG movie if he wants to ever be taken seriously again. He kinda slipped into oblivion (no pun intended) with his 4-year absence and has yet to make a definite comeback. He should do something with Michael Mann again or do an action film that's a new and exciting idea. Unfortunetaly, all this Annie business will probably keep him away from movie sets for another two years afet this. It just makes me sad.
  5. I doubt he's training for that....although I suspect that forcing your kids down everybody's throat and introducing them to the world of money and fame that few adults can handle let alone pre-adolescent children thus ensuring them becoming the world's biggest d-bags is a lot of hard work ;]
  6. http://www.comingsoon.net/imageGallery/Licensing_Expo_2012/large/hr_Licensing_Expo_2012_19.jpg Tell me whether you think it's f**ked up or not...Jaden's name before Will's...seriously WTF? other than that it looks kinda cool ;)
  7. I was surpised by how much I liked it! I expected it to be a complete disaster (the 2nd one was) but was quickly put in my place. Quite a few great laughs...gosia is right...the president drank my milk was brilliant and had me laughing for a few minutes!!:D Loved Brolin's Tommy Lee Jones, loved the emotional part of the ending, loved Emma Thompson, loved Danny Elfman's guitar take on the MIB theme...I loved quite a lot about it actually!! :) I give it a strong 7.5/10!! Now I'm looking forward to seeing Will in the next Quentin "freaking genius" Tarantino's movie "Django Unchained"...oh no, wait....I forgot...he turned it down to make an M. Night Shyamalan movie :]
  8. Let's not forget that he said roughly the same thing about Men In Black back in 2004 when I, Robot came out...he said "I, Robot" raised the bar for sci-fi films as far as he's concerned so MiB might not cut it....after seeing previews and clips for MIB3 I think it might be fun but it doesn't really look like it cleared the bar, what do you guys think? :)
  9. Check this out guys: The theme song is out....and it's **** if you ask me!!! Seriously, I get that Will wants to focus on movies and doesnt really want to do music anymore but this is just ridiculous...not come back this one time for the theme song??? C'mon Will!! anyway, this song is really really bad....
  10. My favorite part of the GI Joe 2 trailer is the ending with a certain someone;) Won't spoil who it is for those that haven't seen it;)) Other than that the music rocked and the sword fight on the side of the mountain looked cuh-razy :))) As for the MIB3 trailer...I don't know. I lost all objectivity towards Will's movies a long time ago so I had to watch it a couple of times before forming an oppinion. In a nutshell...a lot better than I thought it would be, a lot worse than it should be...it's his comeback after 4 years of absence and a sequel to a franchise from 1997 and 2002...it should have knocked our socks off...Meanwhile some of the shots and sets look too cartoonish and the Big Willie-isms are getting old. What I did like was that unlike the second movie, which basically rehashed the first movie's plot (alien villain looking for something small) this one seems to have a much more interesting story, Josh Brolin seems like a perfect addition to the cast and some of the jokes actually worked for me ("smiles like this" and "well...what other secrets are there?") Also I'm not a fan of 3d in general but that time-jump from the roof might make a nice impression in 3D :) Let's wait and see :)
  11. It was just posted on MIB's facebook page that the trailer will debut in 5 days on 12/12...looking forward to it although trailers for Will Smith's movies have always been great with the end result being...well you know...let's wait and see.
  12. The first piece of news I've heard about this project that got me semi-excited ;) Seriously though, maybe he'll help make the thing better. I guess after the inevitable disaster heading our way called "Men In Black 3", I'm definitely gonna be jonesing for anything with Will even remotely good :)
  13. Military cadet of the future???? Jaden Smith (age 13) playing a military cadet??? Seriously?? Also, "The Book Of Eli" was one of the most boring movies I've ssen in a long time. Even Gary Oldman couldn't save it so the fact that they share a screenwriter makes it even worse. Sorry, I am still deep down a fan of Will Smith but despite my best efforts I just can;t get excited about this one..:/ Not to mention that everytime I read anything about "Django Unchained" I get filled with anger:/
  14. 100% with Radewart on this one. Quentin Tarantino made me forget about all the Wiil Smith projects I was actually excited about (HOOD, LAS PHARAOH, BAD BOYS 3) not the mention the bad ideas (Shyamalan, Vampire Caine story) and now all I want is to see DJANGO. After that...do whatever you want Will. Just please, give us this one:(
  15. THE script (check out imdb Tarantino's forum)- pozdrowienia z Lodzi Tak myslalem, ze z Polka mam do czynienia;)) Dzieki za linka i pozdrowienia z 3miasta;)
  16. Thanks for the article Ale!! Seriously, Will has been my number one since the first MIB in 1997. "Pulp Fiction" is my number 1 film of all time. If he decides against doing this movie, I will give up on following his career as closely as I did. I just won't be invested anymore. The movie sounds awesome and it's Tarantino for Pete's sake. By the time we reach 2012 Will will have been absent for almost 4 years and to come back with a Tarantino flick? You don't have to be an agent, an actor or a pr expert to know that that's the way to do it. If my dream of becoming an actor ever comes true I will always think about what people will say about me after I'm gone, my legacy. If you don't do that, then it's just a job, sth you do for the money. Turning down a Tarantino flick is not the way to be remembered. Sheesh, sorry for the rant guys, I just feel really strongly about this project and I really really want it to happen :)) Gosia, by the time I got to your link it was too late. What did you put there?
  17. If Will says yes I think Tarantino should run naked on the beach with you. I don't think we should expose people to such disturbing images...I mean there's sharing your joy with the world and then there's simply torture;)
  18. Read and pray...and those who don't pray, close your eyes and make a wish;) If this turns out to be his next film I'll run naked on the beach, I swear to God!! http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=77289
  19. JusticeKnight - not giving up is not a sign of a good writer/director! It's a sign of perseverance and yes, it is a trait that a good writer should have but it is not the only trait. Do you know what else he/she should have? The ability to learn from one's mistakes. Unfortunately that is not something that Shyamalan does well...or even at all. People have neen talking about pacing and acting issues in his movies for a long time now and nothing's changed. Now I'm not saying that he's unable to make a good movie. The kind of talent that he exhibited with "Sixth Sense", "Unbreakable" and, for the most part, "Signs" doesn't just go away so here's hoping that I'm wrong and you're right! I'm just 100% on the same page as Rad, Visqo and Typhoon - these are not the type of movies he should be making. He has so much creative control over his projects he can do anything with anyone. And a lot of good directors want to work with him. He's like a black Tom Cruise. Tom also has insane amounts of creative control yet look at how well Tom uses his: he works with fantastic directors like DePalma, Mann, Spielberg, Zwick, Abrams, pre-Elizabethtown Crowe, Anderson. Now look at Will's aince "Ali" - Sonnenfeld, Bay, Proyas, Tennant, Muccino, Berg, Lawrence. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with them. They're not bad directors. I mean, we all know that Alex Proyas is a legend (and many would argue that "I, Robot" is Will's best summer blockbuster to date) and I personally think that, from a technical point of view, "Seven Pounds" is Will's best looking film to date. The cinematography, the music...it was just beatufil to look at which is why I respect Muccino's sensitivity a lot. We just think that he could be doing so much more. 4 years and no films? WTF? Get Zwick to direct "Last Pharaoh", do Mann's "Empire" and ask Spike Lee to direct you and Denzel in "Uptown" - then I'll be 100% back in your corner;) And Lawrence was not a bad director. I happen to think that "Constantine" was a very competently made film. Cheers P.S. Sorry for any spelling/grammar mistakes. Been a while since I wrote in English ;)
  20. Here's where I read it: http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=75972 I haven't contributed to this forum in a while (I do visit it all the time though) but when I read this I just shrieked in terror. "Sixth Sense" is one of my all-time favorite films but ever since "Signs" M.Night has started a general decline in quality cemented by the terrible "Happening" and I haven't even seen "The Last Airbender" after I read the reviews! Surely, we might all be proven wrong and this might be Night's spectacular return to form but let's be honest - chances are slim:/ Of all the iteresting projects Will has in development (I still look forward to seeing "The Last Pharaoh", "Empire" and "Bad Boys 3") I have no earthly idea what would push him to make this his next feature so here's hoping that it falls apart.... Cheers Mr K P.S. Even Wachowski's HOOD sounds better even though they also haven't released a decent film since the first Matrix:/
  21. Well guess what guys....I'm Polish too;) A filmu nie widzialem:/ Pozdro
  22. Oh s**t!! Sorry about the spoilers guys, I was a bit tired and tipsy when I posted this stuff last night and I forgot all about it. I understand that this topic is not just for those who have already seen the movie but also for those who wanna see it and want to know other fans' thoughts! Anyway, Hero.... SPOILERS BELOW SPOILERS BELOW!!!!!!!!!! You're right on that score, it is a bit deeper than that and he is in fact making the lives of his friend and brother worse by doing that. The way I saw it is that he was so traumatized that his mind went into overdrive and stopped acting rationally. He just went "The hell with it, I want out of here, I just want it to affect at least some people in a positive way, I don't want it to be completely meaningless!" I know you can argue that death is always meaningless, but to him the fact that he decided to do it on his terms, the fully conscious decision of how to do it and what happens after he's gone, that alone gave it the meaning he was looking for. I like to think so at least;)
  23. Hey guys! I just want to wish you all a merry christmas, may it be a time for joy and peace spent among your loved ones!! I love coming to this message board. Even though we often disagree, it's great to know that you're arguing with someone who shares your love for the subject as I suppose we all do here. I don't know if I can wish us all a happy new year knowing that there's not going to be a Will Smith movie out in 2009;) but f**k it, let's enjoy it as much as we can anyway, right? So once more, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
  24. That's a terrible argument to make. Have you ever been in this type of situation?? I hope not and I hope none of us will ever be. People are different and what comes with that is that we react differently to extreme situations. There is no one mode of behaviour that you can just apply whenever something as extreme as that happens. Whatever happens in a man's mind after something like that is impossible to comprehend. I actually buy his motives because they were quite simple...he decided to kill himself...that's it! But then he decided that he didn't want his death to mean nothing, he didn't want to be just another traumatised victim who can't deal with the new reality so they decide to kill themselves...he wanted to make more of it. The seven people that he "killed" died for no reason other than being in the wrong place in the wrong time so he decided to let his death be of some benefit to others... I liked this movie a lot...it wasn't boring even though I knew the big twist going in. It pulled me in. People bitch about the fact that some characters like his friend or his brother weren't given enough screen time but I disagree. There was no need whatsoever for them to be in the movie anymore that they were. It was a very a very sad movie which to me is a reason why so many people disliked it...beacuse they're not used to movies like that coming out of Hollywood. It was shot very well and with a very European sensitive feel to it that helped a lot in achieving the desired effect. Will was brilliant. This is the first movie since Bad Boys in which he completely dropped his "Will Smith Persona" and just became the character. It didn't feel forced, to me it was genuine. I think he should follow in those steps when it comes to becoming the character. The only thing that bothered me is that I would have liked to see more of his life before the crash or right after the crash but other than that I think the movie works... Overall...a solid 8/10!! Cheers
