  1. Second, same deabte different forum eh dude?

Yeah, bringin' back the old good times

I dont necessarally think being in a bunch of blockbuster movies makes you a great actor tho, it just means a lot of people enjoy your performances. A lot of people enjoy listening to Lil Wayne and he's sold millions of records, but people always argue that sales dont mean anything. So why should a popular movie rank the actors any higher than an unpopular movie?

The movies I was talking about aren't blockbusters, but oh well...

By blockbuster I meant popular and/or with good repuations... i need to polish out my cinema lingo.

  2. Ale dude, the Denzel and Eminem topics werent enough, you had to bring an F1 topic as well?

I think it's great he's returned, shame about the circumstances its under, but still great. Its a no lose situation for him. If he performs well, it'll only increase his legacy, if he performs poorly, it'll get put down to lack of experience in the car, fitness and his age and absence from racing.

Its happened at the right time too, Brawn and RBR are flying, McLaren (well at least LH) are back on form, Ferrari theirselves are showing form again, and I would say Renault, but really its only Alonso LOL I dont think the car is that good, I think Alonso is outperforming it. Hope they get the ban overturned as well, it was obvious he slowed down and tried to avoid the wheel dislodging. With next race being Valencia as well it'd be a shame to not see him there.

Gonna be a great run in me thinks.

  3. I think C. Ronaldo is overrated, and he's playing on my team now. That doesn't mean he isn't a good player, of course, but he isn't definitely the best.

You can be good and overrated. That's what happens with Eminem IMO. I've always said he's a great lyricist, but that doesn't mean the content of his songs isn't wack, or that many of them are just ridiculous. His stupid voice doesn't help either.

A good rapper is more than a good lyricist.

    And he isn't CR7 anymore! Now he's CR9

CR9 right... dropped a clanger there though, people wont bother with new shirts and just wear their old Fatnaldo ones

Ok, you missed my point. The point was peoples lack of knowledge doesnt mean the person they like is overrated.

Golf: People may not know Nicklaus, and say Tiger is the best ever. Is Tiger overrated?

Bball: People may not know MJ (most do), and say Kobe is the best ever. Is Kobe overrated?

Peoples lack of knowledge just means they cant give a true assessment. It doesnt make they're favourite overrated. Coz afterall, favourite is all is it, because something is only good or bad by opinion. Especially in music.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, and I dare say this debate will crop up again soon LOL

  4. In my opinion, no.

You ask a teenager with no Hip Hop knowledge who is Rakim and he doesn't know. You ask that teenager who is Eminem and he knows it, or maybe the only Rap album he owns is the '8 Mile' soundtrack. That teenager will say that Eminem is the best rapper ever, without even being able to name more than 5 rappers.

Now change that teenager for millions, and you'll see the impact Em has made.

Eminem is a showman. Why would I take him seriously?

Ok, fair enough. But, apply the same situation to football. Ask a young teenage kid who George Best (Zidane for some of them probably as well) is an he probably wouldnt know, ask him who C.Ronaldo is and he'd know, and would probably think he is the best player. Does that make CR7 overrated?

I think with Eminem its more, some peoples lack of knowledge means they are ignorant to other artists, as opposed to overrating Em. Because for all we know, even if they had the full knowledge, they could still rank Em as the best ever. Just as a friend of mine (a rapper called Preest) who has a bigger knowledge of hip hop than me, but still ranks Em in his top 5 lyricists of all time. So I personally think its more about ignorance than overrating.

  5. Then I could say you think he isn't overrated because you like him

Eminem is probably the most popular MC in the world. He sells alot, while others as good as him don't get the recognition he gets.

Yes, but just because others as good dont sell as much why does it make him overrated? Doesnt it make the others underrated?

  6. Oh yeah.. welcome back crybaby.

    Its all entertainment Ale!

Would you criticise a comedian for making fun of someone?

Yes, especially when that comedian himself is a joke.

Eminem has made a career of this.

Ok, lets put this into perspective.

Lets say you think Chris Rock is a joke, and he makes fun of Emienm. Are you telling me you'd criticise the comedian for making fun of Eminem? or is there some kind of rule that a comedian that is a joke can make fun of other people you think are a joke also.

Once again, it's you're opinion to not like him. But it isn't fact that he is overrated.

  7. This mixtape is bananas! His flow is so insane. The most complex hip hop I've heard in a long while, while still being so easy to listen to. He's like an 80's/90's artist lost in the new Millennium.

Volume 2 is dropping soon right? Cant wait for that.

  8. Nice trailer. Looks promising. Is this movie based on the 'Fallout 3' game? Because it's identical...

I always rank Denzel as one of the best actors ever, if not the best. This looks great.

That's a bit exaggerated IMO. I like Denzel. I think he's an excellent actor, but I wouldn't consider him better than other great actors like Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Jack Nicholson, Marlon Brando, Paul Newman or Tom Hanks, just to name a few. I don't consider him worse than them either. But while the actors I mentioned have given brilliant performances throughout their careers and have an incredible filmography full of unforgettable titles which are part of the history of cinema, I'd say Denzel's movies are, in general, mediocre.

Again, don't get me wrong. Denzel is an excellent actor, but I wouldn't say he's the best ever. In fact, I believe the best actor ever doesn't exist. There are many candidates for that, and each of them is as good as the rest.

First; yes i think this is the Fallout movie.

Second, same deabte different forum eh dude?

It's really all opinion. I've never enjoyed many performances from the actors you've mentioned. But I'm not claiming they arent great actors. I just enjoy Denzel's performances more. Like you said, no-one can catagorically say who the best ever is. You can just say what you enjoy more.

But I do agree, Denzel needs to diversify his roles. I think thats why some people alos dont rank him highly, they consider him a one trick pony.

  9. Brakes the reason peopke wont vote on your criteria is because they don't like it! next time we should have a vote on the criteria as well :pound:

What criteria would we use to vote on the criteria though? Maybe we should have a vote on which criteria we use to determine the criteria LOL

Joking aside, everyone agreed to the criteria in the first thread for this. Agreeing with the criteria isnt the problem tho is it really. Its not rocket science, you pick who you think is best based on those 3 catagories. The problem isnt people voting FP over Rakim, its the reasoning behind the choice when it's not connected to the criteria. If a person honestly thinks FP is a better lyricist, with a better flow and better skills, give him the vote. But when the critieria is skills, lyrics, flow, dont give your reason for voting for FP as Rakim hasn't done anything big in 10 years or I like FP more. Otherwise we may as well call this JJFP.com FAVOURITE Rapper of All-Time.

I said criteria a lot then.

  10. 12 people have commited suicide themselves bcoz of MJ's death.

That's crazy. I'll never understand why things like this happen.

I heard about those people too. Obviously didnt know MJ too well if they thought he'd like to see things like that happening. Pathetic really. Whilst I was highly saddened about his death and have been reminiscing his music ever since, even thinking about commiting suicide as a possible option is beyond me. As much as I disagree with suicide, I can see how stresses and strains on peoples lives can make them resort to it, but the death of MJ, as much as I love him myself, should not be one of them.
