I heared rumors about the release date a few weeks ago, but I read that it would be released in may.
Whatever. I'm glad that they continue. I'm hoping that Warner will be releaseing it in Germany soon.

I know that the corporations want to bolster DVD sales, but at some point, NBC and other studios should team up to create a site where some of their old shows can be accessed for a yearly or monthly fee, or maybe even on a per episode basis... Just have a library of online content, subsititute 30 second ads for commercial breaks, and they'd make a killing... and we'd be able to access some of our favorite old shows. Even better, also offer them for download in Xvid, mpeg4, wmv, quicktime or any other media instead of delegating that to itunes. I already have a bunch of episodes on my ipod from the first 4 season, and some from season 5 that I recorded from television. It would be a lot easier if NBC and other studios would just man up and do something like this.

I'm going to add that to my list of hopeful boxsets... I also wish they'd release all of the episodes of "Are you Afraid of the Dark." I think the first and second seasons are out.

When I was a kid I used to LOVE that show, and I still do!

Last weekend I decided to write an e-mail to Warner Germany, because one of my Fresh Prince DVD's from Season 3 has two sound errors in the german version. So I asked for exchange and I asked about a possible release date for season 5. They replied today that they will change my disk, but they also told me that they won't release the next season in the near future, whatever that means. Doesn't look good for 2007, I think.

How does it look in Australia or the USA or Great Britain? Any new information about an release date?

the dvds mustnt be doing too well.. perhaps because you got mono sound..and no special features! people can watch fpoba on tv if you wanted more sales give them a reason! commentaries features etc etc.. pathetic

Well, I'm sure they will release them one day. They know that there are only 2 seasons left. The only question is when.
It doesn't matter if the sound is mono or stereo or dolby digital. Most sitcoms on dvd have mono sound.
I suppose that they want to release new series on dvd at the moment. I have the last two seasons on video, so I can watch them, but nevertheless, the quality isn't as good as a dvd, so I'm really looking forward to get season 5...

The last I heard about it was that they (Season 5 and 6) won't be released soon because the music was too expensive for Warner.
I guess they mean the background music, what else could they mean?

I wouldn't think they would have to clear that much music for fresh prince.. they didn't use that many songs in the show did they? seems a pretty weak reason.. i'd like to get season 6 on dvd

To be honest, I really havn't seen much of the episodes after season 4. From what i'm reading about the music cost being high but still planning on relesing the last 2 seasons, I hope to God that is true. That would be really evil if they don't.

It's hard 2 imagin them not doing well. The show is classic and popular. It in syncdication so heavily that it can't be worse than most of the shows released.

You know what sucks... i just came from Best Buy and saw seasons 1-4 all lined up on the shelf brand new but no season 5 and 6

I know. What I can't understand is that Warner Bros is soooooo filthy rich. They come out with THOUSANDS of movies AND TVshows on dvd every week and makes a fourtune. Now hear there complaining about music costs for only 2 more seasons of a show that is a classic. They make a crude load of money as it is. "2 SEASONS LEFT!!!!!!!!!!" If you are reading this Warner Bros., please hear this. (Whatever you do, do NOT cancell them. Please)

Anyone had any updates of when they will be released? I want to get season 5 and 6 on dvd for better quality than my downloaded 5 and 6. I also want to see this 100th episode where Jazzy Jeff hosts it, Ive never heard about it.

Yeah I wanna collect all the seasons but so far they wont release 5 and 6. And for God sakes please put good extras on there.

I don't know what special features you guys think you are going to get, honestly. Will Smith has never done one single special feature on the set of or for the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air sitcom. The only SPs you might get whenever the 5th and 6th seasons are released are bloopers, except most episodes include the bloopers at the end of the episode, when the end credits are rolling as most fans like me obviously already knew and have taken to. Unless they show never before seen footage or w/e, I don't see much extras being put on, even though I want something myself. Anybody that hears any updated info on the 5th and 6th season projects, please keep everybody else updated and in the circle ASAP/when you hear it. Thanks!!..

I'm sure they will eventually be released. It's only one of the most succesful shows of all time. At the same, shows are released when they are in demand. I can't imagin this show not being in demand. Especially if they've gotten to season 4. Sometimes they don't release an entire series because the previous ones didn't sell. Is everyone buying the seasons when they come out? If we, the fans, aren't buying them, then that's saying something. And someone who doesn't have season 1 thru' 4 has no reason posting and complaining about season 5 and 6 not being released yet.

I bought mine when they came out..i think i'm might by them again since amazon's got them for 14.99 but it still doesn't make any since that we don't have the last two seasons on dvd by now that music clearance for the show just seems like a really lame excuse
