I think you have to understand hip hop and it's history and where it is now to understand it's importance. Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince paved the way for hip hop becoming popular, acceptable and worthy of recognition (First Grammy Award). They have sold over 40 million records and yet have barely toured.
